- Instead of a turpentine based resin system, you should look into decoupage. It's exactly what you are trying to do. The link that I've put here will show you something that someone has done with paper and photos and such on canvas. The turpentine could cause problems with your acrylic paint. The decoupage coating shouldn't hurt a thing. Again, Google and read up and find tutorials on decoupage. I think this is what you want.

- It would be better to have the grafting done. If you have a resin bond (and if you can), it's not going to solve the problem. When you have recession, there is a smaller amount of gum tissue and bone protecting the tooth, and if not addressed (by way of grafting), you could eventually loose the tooth. It sounds like a scary procedure, I know, but it's really the best way to save the tooth. Putting a resin on the root surface of the tooth will not resolve the issue and may even lead to future cavities! Hope this helps keep smiling!

- Go with 1. Get the main structure together, do any sanding filing or filling you have to do then paint. Nothing stinks worse than screwing up a paint job because you get glue, filler, whatever on it- and with resin, sometimes it's too easy to damage the model trying to clean it back up (don't ask how I know!) If it's a building, get the outside walls together and glued, and get the roof fitted. Then you can paint the interior if you like before you glue the roof on. If there are small detail parts that would be hard to paint on the model they can be painted first then applied, but get the main body finished first.
