- Q:I want to pour clear resin into a squatty, square glass pitcher about six inches high, as if pouring water into it to serve, but then I want to rest three or four utensils in it, vertically, as if they were soaking in the water, but of course, I want the resin to harden and keep the pieces immobile. What resin should I use and will it have any harmful impact on the glass, pressure-wise? Thanks for any help.

- I can't say this is a whole solution, but I do have one suggestion that you might incorporate into your box/chamber/whatever Have the outside of your box either be mirrors, or some other kind of reflective material, such that they reflect (rather than absorb) energy from outside the box. Because any energy input to the box will cause the ice to melt faster. This is at least a start. Hope my suggestion helps!

It is a highly physical course that is designed for those who want to enter Police, FB, armed forces etc. As well as the physical fitness side of things it gives things like 1st aid qualifications and theory elements to enable the prospective applicant a good start towards passing entrance exams. If you are in the south of England I know Chichester college run such a course. If not you could call them and ask if they know which other colleges run the course or google for your area.

- As long as you clean the inside of the fittings, the outside of the pipe ends, apply flux liberally, and heat the fitting till the solder flows into the crack, you'll have a good water proof joint. If it needs to be handled soon after installation then you can cool it with a wet towel, otherwise it doesn't hurt it to just set and cool by itself. Solder should be lead free and solid, not acid core.
