- Q:I have a gateway mx5776 laptop i think thats the name. a few keys on my keyboard have broken and i am considering buying a replacement keyboard on OKorder. they cost around 30 if the warranty does not cover it. how would i replace it? or should i get a store to do it for me(warranty/paying for repair)? thanks.
- Usually on Gateway laptops you can pry off the bezel that is located where the buttons are North of the keyboard, and then there are 3-4 screws holding in the keyboard. You will also want to check the bottom of the laptop for any screws that may go clear through to attach the keyboard or the bezel. After you get that far there is a ribbon cable that connects the the motherboard with a slot type connector that usually has a lever to release the tension.

- Acer Extensa 5620 has a good keyboard! But I would suggest getting a new keyboard and hooking it up to the laptop. Or take the buttons off of the keyboard and make sure everything it tight. Go to start- Type in on screen keyboard or Keyboard and click on each one to see if a keyboard on the screen pops up then all you do is use your mouse until you get a new keyboard of fix it! Acer is a good computer for work and stuff but its not good to have it at home. How old is your son? Well here- 4-7 age- Tell him its ok and you love him but he gets 1 thing tooken away for 1 week 8-11 age- Tell him he needs to be careful and tell him how expensive things are. and give him 2 extra chores 12-15 age- Tell him he needs to be responsible and take away his cellphone if he has one 16+ age- Tell him he needs to give you 20 pushups and $20. My uncle makes my cousins do 100 pushups and give him $50 for finding a pack of Ciggarrettes in his jeans. This is so your son wont do it again It was fun helping! Thanks for the Opertunity! - Here's a site I used to buy my (musical) keyboard from recently. It has reviews of the top musical keyboards. It seems to be geared mostly toward the top keyboards for beginners--that's me. There are definitely some good ones under $200. Al the links go to Amazon, but that's okay because they offer the same new keyboards at discounted prices off what I would have had to pay retail. - I also faced the problem. The further problem you are going to face is your computer will recognise the keyboard and not mouse. You change the pencil cell in the keyboard replace it and try. Actually my experience with wireless keyboard mouse is very bad. I need to replace the batteries in the mouse every 3rd day. Now I am using usb mouse. Whereas in case of keyboard numeric keypad is not working good.

- This must be on a laptop keyboard. The Function key allows you to select preset functions assigned to the keys. Like Fn+F7 is usually for toggling the the video between local screen and the external video port or both. At least, that's what it is on an IBM laptop. The functions are usually the blue markings on the keys and work just like Ctrl or Alt or the Mickysoft keys.
