Physical properties[edit]

Polyethylene is a thermoplasticpolymer consisting of long hydrocarbon chains. Depending on the crystallinity and molecular weight, a melting point and glass transition may or may not be observable. The temperature at which these occur varies strongly with the type of polyethylene. For common commercial grades of medium- and high-density polyethylene the melting point is typically in the range 120 to 180 °C (248 to 356 °F). The melting point for average, commercial, low-density polyethylene is typically 105 to 115 °C (221 to 239 °F).it is transprant.

Chemical properties[edit]

Most LDPE, MDPE and HDPE grades have excellent chemical resistance, meaning that it is not attacked by strong acids or strong bases. It is also resistant to gentle oxidants and reducing agents. Polyethylene burns slowly with a blue flame having a yellow tip and gives off an odour of paraffin. The material continues burning on removal of the flame source and produces a drip.[3] Crystalline samples do not dissolve at room temperature. Polyethylene (other than cross-linked polyethylene) usually can be dissolved at elevated temperatures in aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene or xylene, or in chlorinated solvents such as trichloroethane or trichlorobenzene.[4]

Q:How to clean a plastic tube with stains?
Let the tub fill up over the stains and allow it to soak for four hours. When the water drains out, you should be able to easily scrub off the stains. Clean the bathroom sink Non-gel toothpaste works as well as anything else to clean the bathroom sink. The tube's sitting right there, so just squirt some in, scrub with a sponge, and rinse it out. Bonus: The toothpaste will kill any odors emanating from the drain trap Good Luck !
Q:how strong is a plastic tubing for a refrigerator line?
I pressure tested plastic tubing to failure a few times. Poly tube in 1 ips burst at 400 psi consistently at room temperature. 1/4 cts will burst at a higher pressure, but will fail earlier if exposed to higher temperatures.
Q:What are the water supply plastic pipes or composite pipes?
PE is the most basic plastic of polyethylene plastics, plastic bags, plastic film and so on are PE, HDPE is a high crystallinity, non-polar thermoplastic resin. The appearance of the native HDPE is milky white and is somewhat translucent in the narrow cross section. PE has excellent properties that are resistant to most life and industrial chemicals.
Q:How do i distill alcohol? Do i need copper tubing or can i use different tubing for the home distiller?
It is preferable to use stainless steel. Copper is ok and will be the easiest to bend, but make sure it has no soldered joints as solder contains lead which is extremely toxic. Copper may also give off a taint for the first couple of runs and any time it is left unused for a while. Plastic/rubber tubing may not stand the heat and may release other toxins into the brew. Not sure about glass, probably at risk of it shattering and it would be an expensive lab set up. Make sure you do your research on this, as in the process of distilling alcohol, the first hundred mls of distillate is toxic to humans and needs to be discarded.
Q:In my sink I found a plastic tube used to inject drugs with a clear liquid inside it- there was a bitten lime?
Perhaps... Could also be someone is injecting fruit with vodka -- something we used to do when I was a teen oh so many years ago. Or maybe your dad has an illness he hasn't told you about? Why do you suspect your dad of that in particular? Is there a history? Only you can know for sure, not us strangers lurking out here on the internets. I hope things aren't what you fear and that things work out for you.
Q:What type of plastic are lip balm tubes made of?
plastic like recycle
Q:Have all the TOXINS been eliminated by using plastic tubes?
There's no way to remove all toxins from anything manufactured. If however, you are simply brushing your teeth with the toothpaste and not actually consuming it, I think you'll be ok. Afterall, the metal, aluminum or plastic filings (if swallowed) would only pass through your digestive course. Should harm occur it would likely be in a circumstance where there was already an issue, i.e. ulcers, diverticuli, etc. On the other hand, if you WERE to ingest fluoridated toothpaste you could become gravely ill on consumption of fluoride alone. Long story short: I think you'll be ok.
Q:Are golden hamsters to big to run through the tubes they have at the stores?
It depends on your perspective. No, I don't know; nevermind.
Q:Can the tap water plastic pipe connect with the old water pipe?
SureYou can buy one with a convertible head.NamelyOne end is PPR or PVC and the other end is stainless steel. You go to the hardware store and ask the boss. Say to water transfer head (specific size look at do). Say "PPR" or "PVC" to your boss. The other end is made of stainless steelBut you have to make sure. Stainless steel part. Is it an inner tooth or an external tooth?. Otherwise, I bought the wrong one.. Either end is an outer tooth or both are internal teeth. It can't be answered. It's like a screw and a screw cap.
