Q:Is it better to use a mortar or and adhesive to dot and dab plaster board to walls?David?
In a sense the question is a bit confusing. Are you installing DRYWALL to studs? OR are you boarding over and existing wall material? Is PLASTERBOARD the actual substance? Have you defined the differences between Mortar and adhesives? Certainly if this is material going over studs or existing wall material, one might use a contracting adhesive, but it wouldn't be my choice as the only method to secure new wall material. I'm going to assume this is not Lathe/ Mesh/ and Plaster being installed. Just my two sense
Q:Can gypsum board be insulated?
Gypsum board can be insulated, but because it is hard material, not suitable for moisturizing materials
Q:Gypsum board in the CAD what said
With a little bit of filling. And then marked with the text. 【Gypsum board ceiling. To
Q:Painting on plasterboard?
If you mean drywall with the paper backing on both sides, that would be really heavy, fragile, and be just like painting on paper. I think masonite, aka hardboard, is better. It comes in 1/8 and 1/4 and you would have to prime it first. Any good white latex paint would be as good as artist's acrylic gesso. Prime both sides equally to prevent warping. It would still probably benefit from a wood framework glued to the back before priming. If the frame is stiff enough, prime just the front.
Q:how can i remove ceramic tiles from plasterboard walls?
There is a tile tool to remove the grout. After you remove the grout you'll want to use a chisel and hammer to start removing and prying the tile off. You may find it easier just to remove the plasterboard and all and just redrywall the walls. Might be a little more expensive, but might save you a lot of time too.
Q:Plasterboard to cover up crumbling wall?
You could just put plasterboard up and then skim over it but if i were you i would replace the weak timber also. If it is only one wall, Depending on the size then you will only probably be looking at £300 - £400 for it all
Q:Can the integrated ceiling lamp be installed on the gypsum board ceiling?
I looked at the picture of the lamp is 600 * 300mm embedded installation is a dome, in fact, this can be more easy to install your. You just open a rectangular hole in the position, the hole according to the dome of the embedded body size to open, if the gypsum board edge without keel, in the edge of the mosaic of wood can be fixed to install.
Q:Mounting an LCD TV to a plasterboard wall?
I GUARANTEE this works. Just do what us old-timers did (I still do). Take an Electric Razor and run it along the wall (with the cutting side pointed to the ceiling). When you hear a louder hum, than what you had, you have found the stud. Test the location with a nail or screw. Another method, and far more accurate, is to drill a small hole in the wall. Take a hanger and push both ways until you find the stud. Mark those locations and test with a nail or screw. Once you have located them successfully, simply patch whatever small hole(s) you have and attach to the stud. Or, you can simply screw a 2x6 on each stud and mount the tv anywhere between. Just paint the board to match your walls, and attach it over your pilot holes (if you wish) and you will be happy.
Q:Plasterboard only fixings to support 15kg TV?
Plasterboard is just not that strong. Find the studs.
Q:How do I fix a hollow plasterboard wall with horizontal joists?
Hello UK. Well it sounds like you have a mess. What I would do is cut out the damaged areas between each stud making sure that you take out the plasterboard half way into the stud. Then replace the area with Sheetrock or plasterboard. The board should be cut to fit the hole and you should be able to screw to the existing studs. If you dont have enough board to screw to, then build a new box made of 2x4s and then put up your new board. Then its just tape and mud to finish.
