Q:right now im trying to decide if i should get a cold air intake or exhaust on my mx5 first, i only have enough money for one or the other right now. whatt one would help the performence the most
The cold air intake system will give you the most improvement immediately. You will get more power and better gas mileage by installing a cold air intake. Later, you can install an exhaust system, then you will notice another boost in performance. They work well together, but the intake will give you the best bang for your buck.
Q:What does the variable intake system mean?
Variable inertial intake system, is installed in the intake manifold on the air intake adjustment system, according to vehicle characteristics, the driver stepped on the throttle range and engine speed of different torque requirements, control the air chamber valve opening and closing, adjust into Gas flow rate, low speed with long into the trachea, to ensure that the air density, to maintain low-power power output efficiency; high-turn with short intake manifold to accelerate the speed of air into the cylinder to enhance the flow of inertia, High turn into the air intake, in order to take into account the performance of each section of the engine speed to ensure the best engine intake efficiency. Q:what are the perks of installing a cold air intake ?
Hence the name, a cold air intake allows cooler air to enter the cylinders. The colder air is the more dense air is, and the more air that goes into your cylinder, the more efficient your car can burn fuel/more power. They can also increase fuel economy, but that depends on your driving style. As far as the amount it helps, it depends on how efficient the factory intake was. Sometime it's a huge difference and sometimes it makes very little.

I would go with the BBK cold air intake its the cheapest at $190.00. Although none of them look like they would change the air temperature entering the engine more than a degree or two and they probably don't improve flow that much most horsepower gains are found at the filter which increases horsepower because the holes in-between the fibers are larger allowing more air(and larger dirt) to flow in. If I had $190.00 to spend to make that mustang a little quicker I would get headers for the engine(improves exhaust airflow tremedously) but if you do that your next upgrade needs to be a good dual exhaust system(you can save big money by visiting your local exhaust shop). Although for the greatest 'feel' for $190.00 is definetly changing the rear end gear instead the factory usual 3.23:1 get 3.89:1 instead. It will hurt your top speed but increase your acceleration much more than an intake or exhaust upgrade. If you do that though you want to program the new gear into your computer because it throws your speedometer off.

Yeah you wont get much of a HP gain from an CAI alone, maybe 3 or 4 more HP. Now combine an CAI with an exhaust and a custom tune and you will feel a power increase.

Spectre makes a univeral kit that will work if you can't find a pre-made intake for your Blazer. Spectre sends you a variety of tubing and you can either use rubber connectors to connect all the various bends and straights or you can mark the orientation of the pieces you need and send it back to them to be welded (or you can weld the tubing yourself if you've got access to a welder). The kit is fairly expensive initially (maybe $500) but you are refunded by Spectre for any pieces you don't use and send back to them so it doesn't end up costing much if any more than a premade intake after the refund.

If your headlights aren't working I'd start with them but it sounds like your customizing it. If customizing I'd start with the headlights then the cold air intake then the muffler. Do your research on the intake and muffler. Don't just buy what your friends advise for you. Find the best performance intake and muffler for your particular car then make sure the intake and muffler are a good match for each other. The air intake and exhaust are very important for performance and fuel economy. If you get an intake that allows a LOT or air through it you'll want a muffler to allow a LOT of air out so they're balanced. Don't be in a hurry to get the upgrades done. Take the tine to do the research so your not second guessing and regretting a high $ purchase. You probably know what you want the lights to look like, such as the bright blue ones, all clear or blacked out which makes that the easiest purchase and adds an immediate custom change to your car. I think you should choose an OEM BMW air intake system. The BMW intake manifold and filter arrangement will likely be the best available on the market. It likely would be very hard to measure any differences between the various filters unless you can run your engine at full throttle for long periods at over 5000 RPM. If you have a cold air source, you might be able feel a little difference in Performance on a rainy day when the moisture in the air tends to slow the rate of combustion slightly. The progression of the flame front in a cylinder may be optimized by the positioning of the spark plug and valve location in the combustion chamber. Any modification to the original OEM intake air system must have an EPA certification sticker on each part replaced.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but please don't ruin your Lexus. I hate to see a nice car go by with after market crap put on it (especially giant rims, huge spoilers, and loud exhaust pipes that sounds like a squirrel on the toilet).
Q:I have a 2006 Mustang Gt 300, 4.6 V8. I want to add on a cold air intake, I‘ve been pricing them on-line but I don‘t want to get gyped for horse power. If there is anything else that will give me more horse power for a cheap price, let me know.
ummm, I've never had this problem personally, but I'd say not. Do understand, I'm not an expert so I'm not 100% sure. Whether they'd fit or not, no clue, i'd say it wouldn't be safe though. They're hard to find, but you never know. So, i'd say not safe, but they MIGHT fit. Good Luck!!!!! EDIT: Actually, i did some reasearch on this topic, and yes they will fit. Like i said before, they may not be AS safe as the original wheel size, but they will fit.
