1. Description:

Black silicon carbide is produced at high temperature in an electric resistance type furnace with

quarts sand and petroleum coke as its main raw materials. Its hardness is between fused

alumina and synthetic diamond. Mechanical intensity of it is higher than fused alumina. It is

sharp and has electrical and heat conductivity in some degree.

Green Silicon Carbide is produced basically in the same manner as black silicon carbide in a resistance type electric furnance with petroleum coke, quartz sand and other materials.

2. Application:

1.Suitable for processing hard metal alloys and non-metallic materials that are hard and brittle such as jewels, optical glass or ceramics.

2.It's sharp cutting characteristics also make it useful for soft materials such as copper, brass, aluminium, or magnesium.

3.Used as vitrified wheels and belts, organic wheels, and sheets.

4.Applicated for refracotry industry.

5.Super micropowder from green silicon carbide can used to make a kind of ceramic material.

6.Also used for wire sawing semi-conductor material.
