Have okorder / When designing, be sure to check that the plants in the plan are hardy to your garden zone. Do a google search for USDA zones, or check the Arbor Day site for your zone. That way, you won't end up planting an orange tree in Minnesota, or a lilac in south Texas! Happy Gardening!

In the spring when the pond plants come in you can buy water lettuce at most any place that sells water garden supplies and plants, including Home Depot and Lowes. I have bought them at both places. Most nurseries and garden centers that have water garden supplies have them also.

You will get great ideas from checking out DIY shops, some of them will have display units aswell ie: tile style in Dublin, Collect some of the paint brochures from dulux, crown etc.., and product brochures aswell ie: bedroom designs from B and Q and you will find you will start to get ideas. You could wallpaper a feature wall in one of the rooms, they do designer wallpaper in the DIY shops that can look great. Also if you google bedroom design images you might get some other ideas aswell. You could also do a mood board before you start so get your material and colour samples together to make sure its the wy you want to look and that they compliment each other. The things to consider are the lighting and your weather. Which direction does your screen porch face? If it is facing north you will need to buy ferns and plants that do not tolerate too much sun. If it faces south you can purchase plants that need lots of sun like Jade and other full sun plants and vegetables. You will want to consider your weather if any of your plants will get very big and need to be brought in in the winter. Some plants can handle freezing others will die. You can put some plants on tiers in smaller containers. It might help to look in magazines or the Internet for pictures of gardens. Better Homes and Gardens magazine is a good one with lots of ideas. You might just want to go to a garden center and look around at container designs, plants, etc. Come springtime the garden centers have so, so many choices. Having a garden is very pleasing to so many - I wish you luck:)
