Q:Spyderco or cold steel?
What exactly are you using it for? Personally I would go with Cold Steel AK47. It's a good all around knife for hunting, combat, stabbing and slashing as well as everyday use. Well balanced tip and very little bladeplay which can be a problem with a cheaper knife. Both are good companies but the CS AK47 wins hands down for me.
Q:mild steel?
i thnk 7.85 the density of ms is 7.85 kg/cm2 and formula is density=mass/volume u have volume=1m3 7.85*1=mass so 7.85 kg
Q:Anyone seen Man Of Steel?
I know nothing about Superman nor have I watched the other films or read the comics. Man Of Steel was a CGI-fest, maybe a little bit too much, though it is Zack Synder's style. I actually fell asleep for most of the movie, seeing only the first 30 minutes and last 45 minutes? So that might be a good indication or it could just be me. There were loads of action scenes but overall, the movie wasn't that impressionable to me. The storyline was quite standard and had nothing outstanding, not even humour. Lois Lane and Superman barely had much screen time together to establish any chemistry. The other characters were pretty flat as well. I did like the dark psychological themes of Superman's struggles and coming to terms with his abilities though.
Q:Stainless steel or white appliances?
Like others said about Stainless Steel, plus if bleach accidentally touched it, it will leave a permanent scar, Stainless Steel can be cleaned with water and soap then with baby oil. White will be better.
Q:How can a spider's web be stronger than steel?
Most importantly, spider silk is extremely lightweight: a strand of spider silk long enough to circle the Earth would weigh less than 500 grams (18 oz). Spider silk is also especially ductile, able to stretch up to 140% of its length without breaking. It can hold its strength below −40 °C. This gives it a very high toughness (or work to fracture), which equals that of commercial polyaramid (aromatic nylon) filaments, which themselves are benchmarks of modern polymer fiber technology. What this means in regard to what you have heard is that if you compared the tensile strength (type 'tensile strength' on wikipedia if you do not know what it means) of spider silk and a strand of steel at the same thickness, the silk would have a higher tensile strength than many grades of steel, upto that of high grade steel - of which they are about the same.
Q:What is so special about Japanese steel?
After WWII, The United States in order to help the Japanese get back on their feet, sent over the equipment needed to make the newest types of foundries available at the time. While this was a big boon for the Japanese, this meant that most of our foundries were using the older technologies. Japanese Steel then had a bit of a edge on purity than ours did and when you have a purer steel, you have a better product. Since then, they've stayed at the top of the game when it comes to steel. Not only because of the equipment which we have caught up with them on and stay with them on, but because they also have a stronger tradition regarding steel. They have made quality steel blades that were decades ahead of what the West could produce. So you couple that quality of metallurgy with modern techniques we gave them, they took steel making and and ran with it to be one of the top steel producers in the world. Don't get me wrong. We in the US can make Steel as well as they can. But we have ranges of steel. You can get a steel tool that is as good as a Japanese offering (if not more so) but at the same time you can also get a steel tool that is well...Dollar Store crap that'll break if you look at it wrong. While their best may not be better than our best, their worst is often far better quality than our worst. Their lower end products are often our medium grade tools and blades.
Q:what steel anodizes well?
Steel doesn't anodize in the sense that aluminum and some other metals do. However, it can be heat-colored. The trick is to clean the surface first (it must be oxide free), then heat gently until the colors appear. These are called temper colors in steel. They are due to a thin adherent layer of oxide that forms and thickens as temperature is increased. They are quite temperature dependent. As the steel is heated, the first color to appear is pale yellow. This will progress through darker yellows, browns, purples, and blues as the temperature rises. Above blue, the oxide becomes the gray/black color you are apparently getting - this is the result of heating too fast and too hot. See the chart at the site below for colors in plain carbon steel. Note that the temperatures are pretty low - It all starts around 400 F and if you go above 600 F the show's all over.
Q:What is the amount of Iron found in Steel?
Steel is produced in different grades, depending on the amount of iron, and chromium, and any other alloying metal that might be in that particular grade. Any good welders hand book would be a good source of information on steel and its properties.
Q:Steel Buildings.........!?
Steel is better than wood. Steel can support more weight than wood. Steel is also much more durable than wood. Termites and rot are not a problem, which results in lower maintenance cost later. Also, wood can rot and warp whereas steel will not. Steel is also more economical than wood. The construction requires less labor, and as a result the labor cost is much lower. Steel is fire resistant, which will lower insurance costs.
Q:What minerals are mixed to make steel?
It depends on the type of steel that you want. For example- A cold drawn carbon steel spring wire consists of Carbon,Silicon,Manganese, sulphur potassium. If you want to make an alloy steel you can also add chrome, vanadium , nickel etc. It depends on the combinations and percentages of each used.
