Q:Into the door is a metal door or special door
General residential door into the door is the metal door, the most common is the anti-theft door, according to energy requirements will have insulation performance, according to fire requirements will have fire performance. Special doors and special doors compared with the special purpose of the door, including radiation doors, air defense doors, noise doors, smoke doors, dust doors, anti-tornado, anti-shock doors,
Q:Such as ... Home to be renovated, but the balcony of the aluminum alloy doors and windows are some of the surface oxidation, and some fade ... I would like to know there is no way to deal with, you can restore the original color, or to deal with the effect can also hope that the method can be simple and practical best!
If you have found aluminum alloy doors and windows have been the phenomenon of oxidation and rust, you can use the fiber brush with the rust to the rust brush can go. Be careful not to use grit, sandpaper, wire balls and other polished. Aluminum alloy doors and windows surface rust is removed, the exposed aluminum and oxygen in the air oxidation reaction, resulting in a new layer of protective film. The use of sandpaper, wire ball will destroy the original aluminum oxide protective film, resulting in a new aluminum alloy oxidation reaction, aluminum alloy doors and windows will become increasingly thin, and ultimately affect the life of aluminum doors and windows. Aluminum doors and windows, refers to the use of aluminum extrusion profiles for the box, the tiles, fan production doors and windows known as aluminum doors and windows, referred to as aluminum doors and windows. Aluminum doors and windows, including aluminum alloy for the force of the rod (bear and transfer weight and load the rod) substrate and wood, plastic composite doors and windows, referred to as aluminum composite doors and windows, aluminum composite doors and windows.
Q:I have metal framed doors on 3 of my bedroom doors and 2 closet doors and I want to remove them and install a wooden framed door. How difficult would you rate this project for a newbie or someone who has only done minor construction work around the house??? I have tried to locate screw or nail holes but there is so much paint on the frame I cannot seem to find anything. any ideas on where to start for research???
My in-laws had the same frames with wooden doors. There are 2 types of metal frames one is called a Knock down frame and is in 3 pieces. These are easy but if you don't see adjustment screws on the jamb face or seams in the corners you most likely have the solid frames. These are not easy. A reciprocating saw would come in handy! Cut the top plate loose from the sides and remove. There may be tabs on the bottom of each leg that screw into the sides of the studs. I'm hoping you have sheetrock walls or this is going to get ugly. Good luck Chris
Q:I want to install metal doors at my home. Is it a good decision?
IF WELL INSULATED AND SECURE.
Q:The door is structually fine. It has some rust and I would like to change the color. A new door will cost $200+ for same quality. Is it going to be better/cheaper to replace the door or have a painter repaint it? I assume a professional will prime, etc.. Can they actually be repainted to look good?
Metal Security Door
Q:I am trying to replace my bedroom doors that have a metal door frame. It doesnt look like it is screwed in. I am not sure how to go about this. Any help would be appreciated.
It usually has screws. If there is no piece on the inside that prys off, exposing screws from the frame into the wall, then there may be screws through a flange under the trim. You need to take the trim off anyway, so take it off and look. If there are no exposed screws, the wall covering (typically sheetrock) may be covering them, cut the sheetrock back a little, but not beyond what the trim covers. As long as you can see metal heading into the wall ,there is a point of attachment someplace under there. If you are not trying to salvage the frame, just get a sawzall and some good metal cutting blades and cut between the wall and the frame.
Q:The problem: I have a metal(I think) crawl space door thats broken the heads of the nails used to secure it to the concrete off, thus leaving the door on the ground. I can't seem to get the broken nails out of the foundation so, my other option is to drill new holes into the door and the foundation. How do I do this?1. Are crawlspace doors typically metal? (I have a crawlspace door and I'm assuming it's metal)2. What kind of drillbit do I need to drill into it?3. Does anyone have any other ideas?
Not sure if such doors are metal, but if it is rusty at all, it is steel. Most stuff put in around poured concrete foundations are steel -- which is sort of too bad. For drilling steel, you can use a regular drill bit made for metal. Not a brad point wood bit. You will want a drill that plugs in -- your battery model may not have enough muscle. To drill into the concrete, use a masonry bit. These basically gnaw the hole into the concrete. Not difficult, I've done it plenty. Before drilling the holes, pick out your new hardware, which should include items that get pushed into the new concrete holes, and the screws go into those inserts. Made of either plastic or lead, usually. The size of what you pick out dictates the size of the hole you need to drill.
Q:What are the characteristics of aluminum doors and windows?
"1, light, high strength: aluminum alloy material is mostly hollow core composite section, easy to use, reduce weight, and the cross section has a high bending strength, made of doors and windows durable, small deformation. 2, good sealing performance: aluminum itself is easy to squeeze, profile cross-sectional size accuracy, high precision machining. Optional waterproof, elastic, durability are better sealing materials, such as rubber pressure and silicone sealant. In the profile, a variety of sealing strip fixed groove, has been with the cross-section in the extrusion process together to complete the installation of sealing materials to create favorable conditions. 3, handsome appearance: aluminum alloy surface by anodized after treatment, can present the ancient lead of liver and copper. Gold, silver and other colors, can be arbitrarily selected, after the oxidation of bright and shiny. Sash frame large, can be placed in a large area of the glass, so that the indoor light is bright enough to enhance the contrast between the internal and external facades, so that the room is more rich level. 4, strong corrosion resistance: aluminum alloy oxide layer does not fade. Do not fall off, no paint, easy maintenance, no maintenance.
Q:Consult steel doors and windows are good or aluminum doors and windows sound insulation good?
According to the nature of the material to analyze, of course, is the sound insulation of steel, heat insulation effect is better, but now there is a broken aluminum alloy aluminum, aluminum alloy is added in the middle of a plastic wear, coupled with double hollow glass , The effect will not be inferior to plastic The advantages of steel: sound insulation, heat insulation effect, cheap, but also look inside the steel wall thickness is not thick enough, the thicker the more solid. Plastic steel shortcomings: easy to fade, fade, aging, the sun through the sun will become thinner and thinner! Broken bridge aluminum advantages: than ordinary aluminum to sound insulation, heat insulation, light, good hardness, not easy to deformation! Broken bridge aluminum shortcomings: there is no drawback, that is expensive, there is the color of the points to see what the surface to do the process, the best choice of paint, easy to peel, the best choice powder coating process. Give you a little idea, if you want to be very sound, then suggest that you use glass glass with laminated glass is three layers of glass, so add you with broken bridge aluminum profile, it is absolutely sound! Hope to help you! If you do not care about the price, then I made the idea: with broken bridge aluminum alloy laminated glass, There is little to see what you do window type, sliding windows do not have flat windows soundproof okay!
Q:I have a duplex where the front doors are metal screen doors followed by wooden storm/front doors. The last owner painted the wooden doors green and purple (eew) and then the metal screen doors are white. It looks bad.I'd like to paint them a nice brick red, but I'm not sure I can paint the screen door. If I only paint the wooden door it won't show much from the street because the screen door is on the outside and really hides the wooden door behind it. I see a lot of houses that paint both the screen door and the storm door the same color and it looks nice, though I can't tell if their screen doors are wooden or metal. If you know how I can do this and what kind of paint I need, I'd greatly appreciate any advice/info.Thanks!
You don't have to use a spray paint. Rustoleum makes a metal paint in a can. I think it comes in brinck red too. I saw it at Menards. I would personally get a good primer and prime both items with a primer meant for the metal (wouldn't hurt to use it over the wood as well) and then get a good outdoor paint mixed up in whatever color you want and paint both doors with the one gallon of paint. Make sure you scuff sand the door before you paint it so the paint adheres well. Just use 220 sandpaper or even a green scotchbrite pad would work. The paint people probably wouldn't be able to match a spray paint anyway. They might be able to come close,a dn then there is also the fact that your color choices are so limited...
