Q:i recently had a basement flood which covered the floor in 4 inches of water. After using two pond vacuum's, and a carpet shampoo and water extractor, the carpet and the pad are still wet. I would love to get the same carpet as i had. They do not have it on the Abbey carpet site anymore...HERE IS THE CARPET THAT WE HAD.
If its not on the Abbey site there are only 2 reasons for this.. The carpet is no longer made and discontinued or who ever you bought the carpet from has private labeled the carpet so no one shopping for an Abbey carpet ( or any thing else in their store) won t be able to cross shop and price compare. Big box stores are know to do this and some mom and pop stores. I never did. Now a suggestion.. Pull up the carpet and the pad. The pad is probably ruined. The carpet is more often than now salvageable if you can get it to dry. Or get a professional carpet cleaner in to vac out the carpet. they may be able to pull out enough water and along w/ fans and a dehumidifier, you may be able to save it. Most home owners policy's cover flood damage, its worth a call. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:what rug would look good with this? Not too expensive please!
I okorder / Not sure if its quite the right green, you'd have to see it in person. If its not big enough you could buy two or more and use a carpet tape on the back to join them together. And its on clearance!! good luck
Q:I tried steaming my carpet with a Rug Doctor, and it didn't work, so I bought a Bissell Proheat. I wanted to use up all the cleaner that I bought for the Rug Doctor before I purchase Bissell carpet shampoo for my new cleaner. The shampoo for the Rug Doctor says it's compatible with all carpet cleaning machines, but the Proheat manual says only to use the Bissell products. I'm a little confused here. Should I use the Rug Doctor shampoo or not?
Can I use resolve
Q:does anyone know how to get the smell of urine out of carpet, ive trieed ferbreeze but its not doing it, any suggestions...
Hope this helps...Good Luck ! Carpets/Upholstery: 1) A great non-toxic carpet stain remover is club soda. Soak spot immediately with soda and blot until the stain is gone. 2) Pet Urine on Carpets: Dab area with toweling to absorb as much as possible, wash spot with liquid dish detergent, and rinse with 1/2 cup vinegar diluted in 1 qt warm water. Lay towels or paper towels over the spot and weight down to absorb excess moisture. Let stand 4 to 6 hours, then remove toweling, brush up nap and allow to dry completely. Use an electric fan to speed drying. 3) Red wine stains can be removed from carpet by rubbing baking soda in and vacuuming. 4) Sprinkle cornstarch onto carpet, vacuum. 5) To remove grease spots from carpets, first sop up the liquid with a sponge, then rub a liberal amount of baking soda into the spot. Let it absorb overnight. Next day, remove the excess and vacuum the area. 6) To remove grease spots from carpets, first absorb excess with a sponge, then rub a liberal amount of corn starch into the spot. Let sit overnight, then vacuum. 7) Dry cornstarch sprinkled on rug and vacuumed. 8) Carpet Fresher 4 cups baking soda or cornstarch 35 drops Eucalyptus essential oil 30 drops Lavender essential oil 25 drops Rosewood essential oil or any combination of your favorite essentail oils Measure 4 cups of baking soda into a bowl, add essential oils. Break up any clumps that form, stir until well mixed. Before vacuuming sprinkle powder from a shaker type can or jar. Let it sit on the carpet for about 15 minutes then vacuum. 9) Herbal Carpet Freshener 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup lavender flowers Crush the lavender flowers to release their scent. Mix well with baking soda and sprinkle liberally on carpets. Vacuum after 30 minutes. 10) Sprinkle baking soda on carpets before vacuuming for a natural rug deodorizer
Q:Is the office good with carpet or floor tile?
Hello, suggest carpetAdvantage1. sound absorption and noise reduction2. heat insulation3., safety, anti-skid4. shock absorption and comfort5. dust prevention and environmental protection
Q:SO my dog had bad diaheria and made a nasty nasty mess on the carpet in a few spots and it was just aweful so only thing i had was oxi clean so put oxiclean on the spots which were very large spots and now its super white in those spots which is better then poo but looks crazy... what can I do to make it look not as noticable? Only thing i could think of is get oxiclean and add it to water and steam clean the whole carpet and maybe it wont be as bad but that would take TON of oxiclean does anyone have any ideas?
put a lot of bleach in your steam cleaner, at least maby it will kind of even it up.
Q:We arelooking to replace carpeting, empire came out today and quoted $34.00 per yard for Nuvo(?) carpet brand...this ncludes padding, installing, ripping and hauling old one, and tax. Is this a good value, ok value or expensive value. can i get better deals elsewhere in MN.
The carpet brand is only one small aspect of what makes the carpet a good value or not. Each company will make 100's of different carpet and many diferent qualities. However, based on normal empire quality carpet: the prices should start at 2.75 sqft ($24.75 sqyd) installed, w/pad disposal. So you may have upgraded and the price can reach that level quickly. We carry many different carpets with many different price levels and great prices in Minnesota's metro area. Stop in and we would love to get you a great value.
Q:My pets have ruined my carpet. I need to rip it up and replace it, but that is way to expensive right now. I am just looking for a product I can buy at a drugstore, spray on the carpet, and vacuume off. Thank you!!
If you have pets that often mess on carpets, you may want to not reinstall carpets. Instead, once you can afford it, consider installing a hard surface that's easier to clean, such as tile or etc. When you do clean, use an enzyme cleaner, to eliminate the Oh, this is my piddle place smell that will cause them to reuse that spot. For now, to help the carpets stink less, put baking soda all over the carpet, and let it sit for a half hour or longer. Then vacuum it up. This will not remove the deep-set pet odors that are in the carpet pad, but it will help remove the odor in the carpet itself, which can only help. Baking soda can work wonders with odors. But if the odors are in the carpet pad, as I suspect they are, any product is only going to help so much. I know others say you can get a steam cleaner and clean the carpets, but in my experience, all this does is release the hounds. It activates any old, dormant pet odors in the carpet pad, and makes the situation worse. So I'm not so sure of this one. Maybe a professional carpet cleaning company... but I make no promises on that.
Q:My friend knocked over her beer on my rug and didn't tell me until the morning after... it smells pretty bad. Any suggestions how to get rid of it quickly and permanently? I don't have many tools to use but i can run to a drug store if i need to.
Try a little washing up liquid in warm water and give it some elbow greece with a hard/soft brush depending on the rug type. If you have fabreeze then give a wack with that also, if not rub some lemon over it and leave a window open for it to dry.
Q:I have this rug that's in my garage that I want to put in my room. It used to be in my old room when I was younger but I don't want to put it in my room because I had it in my room when I was 12-14 (Now 17) and it was a horrible time, I used to get in trouble, grounded, awkward moments, just horrible stuff. I know I'm being superstitious but I don't want to have bad luck in my room. I think that If I put the rug in my room it will invite all that bad. I really want to put it in my room but I can't.It will bring back all those bad times. How do I overcome this? And is it bad luck? Help please.
The years between 12 and 14 are known to be horrible, awkward, catastrophic years for everyone rug or no rug. If you want to purify the rug from any bad qi you should throw salt on it. Salt is a purifier. If you still feel that you are too superstitious and it is really stressing you out put the rug in the garbage.
