Q:Titanium or Tool Steel?
I would have to say titanium , but in doing so I am having to assume you have access to some very serious machinery. This is because Ti is extremely difficult to work and also work hardens, which could lead to cracking and failure. The other problem is that Ti is also very hard to weld .It seems tool steel is the choice for ease of working and weldability, so unless you can buy the bits you need precut or made then I'd say tool steel, preferably something along the lines of ramax.Your other option is spring steel as this is workable and gets hardened after shaping.
Q:what are some advantages of stainless steel?
I would go for stainless steel cookware. There are some advantages of stainless steel cookware that make it so popular. *Durable: stainless steel is tough and can last for years and decades. It is not prone to chipping, rusting or even staining. It won’t dent and scratch easily as well. It is basically indestructible kind of cookware. it can also handle extreme temperatures. *Hard and non-porous. *Appearance: it will remain looking brand new for a long time and this is not because of its high maintenance. *Flavor preservation: stainless steel cookware is made in such a manner that none of the metals in the alloy will be tasted in the food cooked and neither will any of the material come in the food. *Recyclable: in an event where the cookware does get damaged, it can be recycled or salvaged. *Safe: while using stainless steel cookware, you need not be worried about any kind of metal poisoning.
Q:Does anyone know about steel framed houses?
The humidity is not at all related to the framework of any house. Galvanized steel has become popular especially in commercial applications because lumber costs are increasing exponentially. Consider that any home built should be adequately ventilated, insulated, and certainly constructed. Consider where the house is,,,IE: Near water; in a tropical setting; prone to being in an area that floods; or gets a lot of rain. The exterior and interior of a steel framed house is the same as a wood frame. I'd go with block personally and steel roof rafters and joists. Once the house is built, adequate ventilating, heating, and/or air conditioning should be accomplished to keep the humidity levels tolerable, and not effect mold, mildew, excesssive heat, etc. Rev. Steven
Q:Pre Fabricated Steel Buildings?
Q:how do I build a steel galvanizing plant. Hot dipped Galvanization?
Galvanising Plant
Q:What metals contain steel?
Metals do not contain steel. Steel is an alloy of purified iron and carbon, and sometimes with other metals, such as nickel, chromium, or molybdenum to make it stainless or to change its hardness or other properties. It's like asking what cereals contain Cheerios. It doesn't really make sense. Other metal alloys contain iron, which is an element and the main ingredient of steel. Maybe you should be asking which metal alloys contain iron? That's more like asking which cereals contain whole grain oats. Now that's a question that can be answered by reading the ingredients labels on your standard boxes of metal alloys :-)
Q:What are the characteristic of CORTON STEEL?
*It is Corten steel.Grade A B. *Weathering steel, best-known under the trademark COR-TEN steel, is a group of steel alloys which were developed to obviate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance if exposed to the weather for several years. United States Steel Corporation (USS) holds the registered trademark on the name COR-TEN. Although USS sold its discrete plate business to International Steel Group (now Arcelor-Mittal) in 2003, it still sells COR-TEN branded material in strip-mill plate and sheet forms. In some areas it may be known without the hyphen as Corten steel. The original COR-TEN received the standard designation A242 (COR-TEN A) from the ASTM International standards group. Newer ASTM grades are A588 (COR-TEN B) and A606 for thin sheet. All alloys are in common production and use. It is a weather-resistant steel which is used in containers and hot flue gas line. The American Corten A Steel has a composition of C, 0.12; Si, 0.5; Cu, 0.5; Cr, 0.8; P, 0.1 and Mn, 0.5%. Although the tensile strength is less than 494 MPa the yield is in the region of 371 MPa. The combination of copper and phosphorus also increases the resistance to atmospheric corrosion which is important when thinner plates are used. The original steel A suffers a decrease in yield strength and notch ductility in thickness over 25 mm, to overcome which Corten B was developed-C 0.14; P 0.04; Mn 1.1; Cr 0.5; Cu 0.4; V 0.1; Bol Al 0.02. *COR-TEN A applies to plates up to 12.5mm in thickness, COR-TEN B applies to plates up to 50mm in thickness. *It has been used in bridge and other large structural applications such as the New River Gorge Bridge, the newer span of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, and the creation of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA). It is very widely used in marine transportation, in the construction of shipping containers.
Q:Decorating stainless steel refrigerators?
Elmers, the glue maker, make stuff called Tack Adhesive Putty. It looks like a stick of kids clay or silly putty, but you tear off pieces of it and stick them to the fridge. Then stick your pictures to the putty! Works great and comes off easily.
Q:what steel is best for a sword?
Carbon Steel is the most common, while most live-steel(designed for use) ready sword utilize on of the spring steels you mentioned. Hybrid steel like those used in the Slayer series seem neigh-indestructible. The steel should be strong enough to not notch on a strike, but flexible enough to flex when you bend it, lest it shatter on a hard blow.
