Q:How do I repair this broken tile?
use okorder.com
Q:Help with tile installation 5 *?
With your pet I would go with Pergo flooring - it is easy to clean, doesn't stain, easy to install and looks amazing.
Q:first time laying tiles?
Yes you can do it yourself. But you'll need a lot of guidance. Probably too much to give you here. Is it on concrete? If so, you'll have less problems. If it's on wood, you'll have to tear up the first layer of the subfloor and lay down backerboard (hardibacker). There are two types. Use the 1/4 inch. The 1/2 inch is for walls. You'll need thin set, tile cutters, maybe tile nippers. Grout and a float. Then you'll probably have to replace the base boards. Are the base boards real wood or pressed wood? Pressed wood doesn't hold up very well in moist areas. I suggest real wood. Then don't forget to paint them with a mold resistant paint. Oh yes, don't forget to remove the toilet. You will want the partial tiles to end in a corner of the room that is the least obvious. You will have to do a dry lay to determine how to lay down the full tiles in the best way. (Dry lay is explained in the how to do it books.) I suggest you get a book on how to lay tiles. Also go down to Lowe's or Home Depot and go to their classes. Since each instructor lays tile differently, go to several of their classes and ask a lot of questions. There are many different tiles. Some are natural stone (marbel, travertine, granite). Some are man-made (ceramic). Some are cheap, some are expensive. But more importantly some are very smooth and slippery while others offer a little more traction. (With that said I layed down marble-very slippery in my bathrooms and kitchen simply because it looked so good!) Do your research before you begin your project. Think it out and ask a lot of questions to people that have done this. Laying the tile is easy. But it does take some basic knowledge. Good luck!!
Q:We were going to tile our bathroom and utility room,?
Laminate Tile will only be as good as the prep you do before you lay it. To prep your floor, make sure there are not anything popping up through the floor ,clean it very well and vacuum well and let it dry and do it again. Buy some Vinyl floor primer and use as directed. also buy some tile floor sealer for the seams, it looks like model glue in a bottle. The primer makes the tile stick better and the sealer keeps dirt and water from getting under the tile and pealing it up. Where do you put the first tile, Try this. as you casually walk into your bathroom look down and see where your first step is as you enter,This is where you start, It is better to make the first step on a whole tile then on a crack or seem. center this first tile and go from there.
Q:How would you go about tiling a bathtub wall?
There is no quick, easy, right way to do tile. Do the buyers a favor and put up a nice shower wall kit with fresh drywall above it. You'll have something that looks okay, and they will have something that is easily removed when they are ready to remodel and do it right. If you want full panels to install, look at cultured marble/granite. It goes up in large pieces and doesn't require tileboard if you install it right. You do have to caulk properly. Mask both sides of your caulk beads and work quickly using GE Silicone caulk to seal all joints.
Q:affordable tile flooring?
If you happen to have a Habitat for Humanity Restore near you, they (or at least the one near me) usually have lots of unused tile that you can buy for a low price. Just an idea.
Q:How To Polish Granite Tile?
Granite okorder.com/ Safety Tips: Always use safety gear to protect your eyes, nose, legs, gloves. If you are using wet polisher, always read the precaution and safety tips of wet polisher. As it uses water and electricity, be careful.
Q:How can I get stains off tiles?
Are we talking vinyl tile or ceramic? The longer a stain sits, the harder it is to remove. I like oxyclean. Mix some up and soak the stains with it. Then there's Hydrogen peroxide. It works well on some organic stains. Mix up a paste of baking soda and white vinegar, smear it on the stain, let it sit for a bit, then wash it away. You could also go to your local restaurant supply store, most towns have at least one, and check out their industrial strength cleansers. They generally work well, and are not as expensive as commercially sold stuff. You don't need to own a restaurant to shop there. Stain removal is hit or miss. You just have to find something that the stain reacts to well.
Q:Should i tile right to the floor?
You first need to place tile backer board on the sub floor. This step prevents the floor from flexing which will crack the tile in due time. But, to answer your question. Put the tile down first, then place the baseboards up against the wall over the tile. Set tiles 1/4 away from the walls. Do not leave any grout to harden which is not level to the tile near the walls or the baseboards will not lay flat against the tile. Good Luck
Q:What is the classification of tiles, what is the difference?
According to use points: outside the wall, the wall, floor tiles, square brick According to the molding points: dry pressure molding brick, extrusion molding brick, plastic molding brick Ingredients: oxidized tiles, reduced tiles According to glazed: glazed tiles, no glazed tiles According to the water absorption points: porcelain tiles, stoneware tiles, fine stoneware brick, stoneware brick, ceramic brick
