FAQ

1.    For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?

—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.

2.    What is the MOQ for this tile?

—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.

3.    Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?

—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.

 4.  What's the characteristics about porcelain tiles and glazed tiles? Which one more slippery, more aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean?

Glazed tiles are colorful, the effect is rather diverse, stain-slip, abrasion resistance but worse than the porcelain tiles. Long-term use may wear a large surface; porcelain tiles have the higher degree, long hard wear surface. Good performance and stable cleanup (before playing the best times to use the wax to improve stain resistance). The porcelain tiles are weaker performance in non-slip than glazed tiles. We should take attention on its anti-slip properties, face down in a tiled brick water testing.

Q:Laying ceramic tile on old wood subfloor?
Use the cement board or 1/4 exterior plywood. I don't know about waterproof membrane, ask when you buy the cement board. You can get moldings to cover up the fact that the floors are uneven, just remember to pick up your feet. Trying to level would be a nightmare, IMHO! Ripping up the subfloor is a lot of work for nothing.
Q:I'm new to floor tile.. can someone explain the charges?
Yes that is a sq ft price. Installation prices vary from area to area. Normaly, you can call an installer and they will give a free in home estimate although some do charge for this. I live in the southern US. Here the normal price for installation is about $3.00 to $5.00 per sq ft on a ready site. Prep work (ie current flooring removal, furnature moveing, etc) is extra.
Q:grouting ceramic tile?
sounds like you might have small spots of dry grout--that was not wiped off--not the glaze but actual grout and now it is hard-- use a razor blade to remove these spots carefully--or use a 5 in 1 tool--which is not as sharp--but will remove the excess grout--wipe down with damp sponge couple times
Q:Should the ceramic tile throughout my house match?
You dont have to match all of the tile. That would be boring. You can vary it but keep it all in the same family. You can have a common theme thru out and still vary it so its not the same in each room. Good Luck! And sorry you're having to deal with the Katrina clean up still! Best of luck you you and yours.
Q:Stains on white tile?
I would try a magic eraser.
Q:tiling kitchen counter?
The most popular tiles are large format styles that minimize grout lines and make a small kitchen appear larger. Squares are the most popular shape, but rectangles, hexagons, and octagons can make a statement. You can incorporate one or more styles to create a variety of patterns, from checkerboard to basketweave, and add accents for visual interest. The hardness that makes tile so desirable as a kitchen floor surface can also be a drawback. Serious cooks will want to wear comfortable shoes or put down floor mats or area rugs, because standing on tile for long periods of time can be tough on legs and backs. Its surface is cold to the touch of bare feet. And dropped dishes, mugs, and glasses can break on impact.
Q:Questions about installing marble floor tile?
Marble tile floors have been around for centuries. Even today, in an age of much simpler and less expensive options, marble remains synonymous with elegance and class. Installing marble is more complicated than installing ceramic or other types of tiles because the marble can't be cut on a standard tile cutter, instead needing a wet saw. Also, since the tiles are straight-cut in their manufacture, the tile surfaces have to be completely even with one another.
Q:Tiling a kitchen back splash?
You said textured. Is that textured paint or lumpy texture . If lumpy texturing, you have to get it smooth. Sand ,scrape or replace, just so its smooth to go over. No cement backer board required. This really isn t a wet area to really be concerned about.. Thinset or mastic will work fine. Thin set is a little harder to work with if your not all thatexperiencedd. But thin set is cheaper. If your using a self stacking tile its real easy. But if the tile your using requires spacers to hold it up until you set the spacer its a pia, but can be done. Mastic , w/ the right trowel , the tile will pretty much set and hold into place until you put a spacer in. Thin set will skim up and set up much quicker when using over dry wall .. The moisture will absorb into the dry wall just faster so you can t do as big an area at once..So when I do thin set over dry wall I make my thinset just a bit( just a bit) so that it ll set a bit longer. This takes practice and you need a bit ofexperiencee. . Now if your using some glass tiles you should use thin set.And they want you to use a special enhanced thin set.. Any questions you can e mail me thru my avatar and check my qualifications there GL
Q:tile vs. hardwood floors?
I would go with the hardwood floor. As the styles change and you redecorate your house, the wood will match anything you do to the house whereas the tile may not. If a tile cracked and the ones in your house are not sold, you will have to replace the entire floor otherwise you will have a patch that doesn't match in the floor. Also, tile has to be regrouted more than the hardwood would need to be refinished. If you decided down the road that you wanted to go with tile, you could remove the hardwood much easier than tile. Hardwood is just a classic type of flooring and if it gets cold, you can just throw some floor rugs here and there (which would be a good idea in high traffic areas any) and it is as cozy as ever.
Q:Do 12 x 12 vinyl stick-on tiles work for bathrooms? Or does water get between the tiles?
No problems...I have them in the bathroom
