Q:Can I use glazed, porcelain tile in the bathroom?...?
glazed tiles are fine to use in the bathroom, the important thing to remember is if they are set properly and to set on either mortar base or hardiboard. the main concern though, would be whether the surface is too smooth a finish when used on the floor, especially when the tiles are wet! this could become a hazard to your health! a lot of tiles used in a floor application, have a sanded or rough finish ,just because of that !
Q:How to tile a basement bathroom floor?
Rent a floating machine and skim the floor with thin set mortar. That eleminates imperfections in the slab, giving you a first class substrate for your tile. If the paint on the concrete is tight (not flaking or peeling) you should be able to skim right over it. The machine is a large, electrically driven circular trowel that really smooths things up.
Q:can you put tile over tile on the kitchen floor?
As long as the existing tile is not cracked, has missing chips, free from grease and dirt and has been vacuumed you won't have a problem putting new tile over it. Also you want to make sure the existing tile is not loose in spots. Yeah, a few new tiles might lose their grip and come up.....in about forty years. We did the same in 1974. I am now in the process of a remodel and a few of them came loose. Must have been a bad batch of tiles! Lol. You'll be fine.
Q:Price to install porcelain tile?
A porcelain tile is decorative and glazed only on the outside. If you were to see a cross section, you would find only a small decorative veneer sorta surface on the exposed side. The rest of the tile has a dirt colour. In a ceramic tile, the colour is uniform throughout the tile. Practically, say if a prcelain tile gets chipped, you will see the dirt colour where it's chipped. In a ceramic one, it would not be such a stark difference. By the way, many mugs and cups we use for beverages, are made of ceramic. The not so personal stuff like vases could be made of porcelain. Got it ?
Q:What is all porcelain called semi-tiles
First explain what is all porcelain what is semi-porcelain All porcelain: firing temperature greater than 1200 degrees embryo body water absorption is low, after the extension of the rate of low embryo clay and semi-porcelain different porcelain process for large pieces of tiles such as 800 * 800MM, 1 m * 1 m tiles The reason is related to the mold, simply said that the whole porcelain manufacturing large tile cost is relatively low if the manufacture of small pieces of tiles, then the cost will be high Semi-porcelain: firing temperature less than 1200 degrees embryo body water absorption than the whole porcelain slightly higher after the heat after the elongation slightly higher embryos and all porcelain due to the cost of the problem if the small pieces of wood tiles or other small pieces of ceramic tile The cost will be very high so that the ceramic manufacturers in the country did not do a few small ceramic tile all the time to do even the export because few people in the country to buy small pieces of all-ceramic tiles
Q:,I'm removing tile?
Is the tile 9 inches square? if not, you probably do not have it in your tile, as they stopped making it in tile in the 70's. If you get it checked for asbestos and it's positive, you are best to let an abatement contractor do the job. You can be fined for tossing this away if it has asbestos in it.
Q:why my tiles don't stick to the floor?
Tile, like Ceramic / Porcelain tile? Or do you mean vinyl tile? If vinyl tile, the PVA should work, unless the floor beneath (concrete slab) wasn't prepped properly. If its ceramic, Porcelain or any kind of hard, individual tile, you should not be using floor adhesive, you should be using thin set (mortar) as an adhesive. The only way that wouldn't work is if your floors are so uneven that you can' get a good 'grab'. In that case, the floors need to be floated. Either way, sounds like daddio isn't as great as made out to be, get a professional in there, STAT!
Q:Proper solutions for maintaining marble tiles?
There are belowing guidances need to be taken into consideration while maintaining marble tiles: 1Use a dampened sponge mop without cleaner to clean the tile on a daily basis. 2On a weekly basis, use a different sponge mop with a marble cleaner to mop the tile. 3On a quarterly basis, apply a marble sealer made of polymer resin. 4Use painter's tape to tape around the edges of the tile. 5Mop the tile with a dampened sponge mop to remove any dust or debris. 6Following the manufacturer's directions, pour a small amount of a polymer resin into a disposable cup. Pour the polymer resin over the tile, using the paint spreader to push it back into an even layer. 7Allow the polymer resin sealer to dry according the manufacturer's directions.
Q:When and how to tile under the refrigerator?
Your refrigerator should have an adjustment at the front, just lower your frige push back at the top of frige, and put some blocking back far enough so you can set your tile. Make sure the tile is far enough under the frige. Lay your tile, and grout. Then push back the frige, remove the blocks, and adjust your wheels as needed.
Q:Ceramic tile over concrete skab?
Any rocking means the tile is hitting either a high spot or there is a low spot. Low spots can be dealt with the thin set. As long as its less than a 1/4. High spots usually needs to be ground down flat. So to answer your question , for ease of installation and the prevention of cracked tiles at a later date, floors need to be as flat as possible. If you have minor rocking with no thin set down, in some cases a larger sized trowel will do the trick. Each case is different and has to be dealt with differently.
