Q:my bathroom has brown tiles that i hate i bourgh white and stone tile paint there rubbish can i use another paint what kind i cant re tile landlord wont let me so need help
You need to paint tiles with tile paint, especially if they're in a wet place like your bathroom or toilet. Alternatively (if you want to put yourself into more expense), you can buy a universal sealant to first seal the tiles. Paint the sealant onto the tiles and give it enough time (according to manufacturer's specifications) to dry. You can then paint over this with emulsion paint. One word of warning: Don't expect it to last forever and it may scratch easily. It'll look good though... I've used this method in the link below. I painted granite and tiles. ourdiyprojects /transform-an-u...
Q:does anyone know what the most affordable nice tile flooring is? i was watching a tv show that was using slate for less than a dollar a sq ft. i cant seem to find that anywhere.. but im re-doing my kitchen and would love suggestions! no laminate or wood im really aiming for tile. thanks!

Q:im layng tile and the room is 13 long and 11 wide how many tiles would that take
13x11 =143 sq ft. If you're using 12x12 tiles then you'll need 143 tiles. A 12x12 tile = 1 sq ft. It's always best to buy 10% extra for mistakes and future repairs.
Q:i‘m having an investigatory project and its all about making tiles out of broken glass and rice hull. help me pls.
sounds odd, I wouldn't use broken glass in an indoor tile, nor rice hulls on an outdoor tile. you may be able to laminate (make layers of) rice hulls in mortar on lower layers and then embed the glass on the top for traction for an outdoor tile. use a 1 foot square wooden box, lay down a very thin layer of mortar (thickness of a quarter?). then lay down layers of your rice hulls mixed with mortar, then carfully place the glass on top, making sure it is in the mortar enough to be secure. this is more like a terrazzo floor common in south florida and italy Good luck with your homework
Q:I have a bathtub that the bottom row of tiles are getting loose on the top portion. A few have come out.The row above seems ok.Can the bottom row be resealed or replaced without interfering with the upper tiles? If so how?
Yes you can just be patient and remove the loose tiles which should not be hard to do. The reason that they have turned loose is because of moisture behind the tiles. Be sure you have a good stable surface for the tiles that you put back to adhere to. You may have to lay a film of masonry of something to give you a solid surface to hold the replaced tiles. As for as glue, I would use a adhesive that is called F26 and it is multipurpose to reattach the tile. I will guarantee that those tile will never come off again.
Q:I got thisAmerican Florim tile about a year ago and can‘t remember if was Terra cotta tile. Does it look like it to you? If so it is 320 square ft of Terra cotta 18 tile. 5 or so tiles are broken on the corners.
Chances are good that the tile was purchased locally by either the tile installer or the builder. If I were in your shoes, I would take the pictures to your local flooring businesses and let them identify it for you. Chances are good that you can still get the same tile in the same shade since it is only a year old. To save some time, call around to make sure that the flooring businesses in your area carry ceramic tile before you spend your hard earned gas money visiting them. Good luck with your project.
Q:what is vitrified tiles
Tiles with a glazed surface, just like white bathroom tiles. vitrifiy - convert into glass/like substance.
Q:I had asked the guy I am seeing to go somewhere with me tonight and he said he had to prep the floor before laying the tile? He has been working on a flooring job, but what do you do to prep a floor? Is this the same whether with tiles or hardwood?
Preping the floor for tiling can involve multiple things: First tile cannot be layed on any kind of surface It has to be dry and very solid without any movements or the tile or the grout will crack after some time, so it might involve some extra screws on a plywood floor removing cushion floor etc. If the floor is uneven or not level this has to be fixed before laying the tile also, this may include pouring some self leveling concrete to level the floor. The floor surface has to be completely clean before laying the tile, so brooming, removing baseboards etc. He may also chalk some lines as reference points before laying the tile. Hope this helps
Q:Anyone have any experience with using glass mosaic tile as the kitchen counter material (not just as the backsplash)? This would be for a lightly used area of my kitchen counter by the sink - not the primary work area. Would love to hear any pros and cons. Thanks!
I have not yet run across a glass tile that is rated for use on a kitchen counter top. They will scratch too easily for use on a kitchen counter, and are more for a wall application. Ceramic is ok for a counter top, but does not usually come in a mosaic. Ther are a few though. Maybe you are making your own mosaic? Ceramic would be the easiest to work with. If it has a shiney finish though, it will show scratches with wear. Porcelain comes in mosaic sheets and is very durable. I personally wouldn't want a mosaic countertop because it would be uneaven, and have lots of grout. But if you are sure that's what you want, be sure to buy grout sealer, and use the correct cleaners so that sealer stays on! Or grout with an epoxy grout, it won't stain. It is hard to work with though.
Q:Immediately home decoration, and now consider the floor, but they do not understand anything, so would like to ask about what the advantages of the two? How much can the cost be?
I also considered a long time when the decoration of this problem But the winter and spring heating period in the past when the ground is quite cold, especially my family has a child, maybe when the urine on the floor to better care of the tiles. The floor is afraid of fear of formaldehyde to buy a good brand can be a but it depends on the ground roughness of the ground, then the need for the entire ground cement mortar flattened (hand and tile the manual fee is the same) so much more expensive than the floor, But the floor foot feel good looks high also the whole house decoration to enhance a level Now strengthen the floor to take care of the cigarette butt to the top there is no trace Solid wood floor on the expensive ~ ~ ~ Take good care to see if you want to be more practical or higher to see some of the higher ~ ~
