Q:How to distinguish between true and false tiles
This does not matter true and false friends, that is good or bad, the market are generally brick tiles in Guangdong, the quality of this brick can, but do not buy Shandong, the quality of the poor. Buy tiles when the business is what brick, but to note that some of the profiteers in Shandong is clearly added to the Guangdong brick brick title, so I suggest you walk more, more comparative comparison. There is too much knowledge here, not finish it. Do yourself be careful, I wish you good luck.
Q:I am laying ceramic tile over subflooring using 1/4 inch wonderboard. I am trying to not to have to move or modify existing floorboard trim. If I have 1/4 inch thick tile, 1/4 inch thick wonderboard how much thickness should I assume for adhesive? I have an existing 11/16 gap between subfloor and bottom of floorboard trim. Will I be able to use adhesive to close the gap to make fill the gap or are there other options?
You have to use thinset mortar not adhesive.
Q:it is literally burning hot have no idaea wat the problem is plzz help:). porcelain tile btw
is the basement below this bathroom?if so it could be the heat from a pot light. you would not believe the heat one throws off
Q:I need to have something that makes you think of a tiled bathroom with flair. My work tends to be creative and one of a kind because I work with people to give them the project they didn‘t know they wanted. It really is my passion to keep the customer happy that they had a hand in the layout. So how do you have a quick name that‘s memorable and not a commercial mess like Tile and Bathrooms Incorporated Industries. Anyone‘s help is much appreciated on this. Its been like thinking about the perfect kids name for your future child at this point. Thanks
You have the name in your question. Creative Tile and Bath. Says it all, right there. Or you could go with something similar New Creations Tile and Bath, so on and so forth. I think I'll go register Creative Tile and Bath as a domain name. Then you can buy it from me. LOL
Q:What is the drill bit?
Ordinary glazed tiles can be hammer or dual-use drill with the impact drill, The tiles should be fitted with hand drill with glass drill.
Q:I need to re-set some tiles on a roof that have slipped and replace some others. Also, I need to re seal my flashing around my vents. What am I getting into, and how hard is it to work on tile roof?
Professional here, are you talking about Slate tiles, Spanish tiles, or shingles ?? Flashing around vents requires a pointing trowel with the end tip broken off, makes it easier to apply around flashing, I would use Karnak brand myself, have used it 20 yrs commercially. You would require skill to get this right even if you try. Replacing any so called Tiles also requires experience, if you never walked a roof, you could kill yourself. If your in the NYC area. email me, I'll either tell you how to do this yourself or do it for you for a charge.
Q:hi friends.. we r constructing a new house.. many people say us lay tiles for floorins and many say to use marbles or granite?...so confused!!!!.. wat to do?quite big house situated quite beneath the hills.
tiles much cheaper than marble/granite
Q:When tiling a counter top, do you need to remove the existing covering? I am assuming that I would. If so, should I apply the tile directly to the plywood? Will the plywood be wide enough?
Its best to start with a plywood core. Thinset adheres best to it, and adhesion is the name of the game. If you think about laminate, its not a good surface for your mortar to bind to, as a result your tiles will pop off and look like a crappy job no matter how much care is taken. Some will tell you you CAN do it, and you can. Scar the top up thoroughly with a carpet knife, make deep score so the thinset mortar has something to bind to. But for the few extra bucks, I'd toss the top into the dumpster, and lay down a good solid plywood base.
Q:all ceraminc tiles, mounted in between to tiles maybe?
The shelf could only appear to have been made from tile. The tiles are mounted on a subframe, covered with cementitious board and adhered with mortar, typically. With new construction (or major remodel), this is pretty straightforward; you'd just plan it in to the framing and finishing. With an existing shower, I'd have to say No, to this thought, because there'd be nothing to mount the tiles properly to. If you do get that far, you can get tiles with a specially shaped edge, called a bullnose that won't show the underside of the tile's body (an unglazed edge) for the edges of a surface, like a shelf. Grout can also be used to hide those 90 degree angles, if the bullnose tiles are not made to match the tile you are working with. Hope that helps/
Q:What is the classification of tiles, what is the difference?
Tiles are divided into floor tiles, wall tiles and waist tiles. Floor tiles: according to the color is divided into imitation Spanish bricks, glass polished tiles, glazed tiles, anti-skid tiles and seepage polished tiles. Wall tiles: according to the color can be divided into glass wall, printing wall tiles. Waist bricks: mostly printed tiles. In order to meet the specifications of the wall, waist brick is generally set to 60mm × 200mm format. Tiles according to the process is divided into: glazed tiles, quintana brick, polished tiles, tiles, ceramic tiles. Glazed tiles: Brick on the surface of a brick. This brick is divided into two categories: one is made of clay; the other is made with porcelain clay, the current home decoration about 80% of the buyers choose this brick for the floor decoration materials. Quintana Brick: This is a glazed porcelain tile that has good skid resistance and abrasion resistance. Generally speaking, "anti-skid tiles" are mostly quintana bricks. As this kind of brick price is moderate, popular consumer favorite. Polished tiles: the whole body after polishing polished polished tiles, this brick is very high hardness, very wearable. Tile: This is a kind of high temperature fired ceramic tile, is the hardest of all the tiles. Sometimes polished tiles are scratched when the tiles are still safe and sound. The Ceramic tiles: also known as mosaic, specifications, thin and small, hard texture, acid, alkali, wear, no water, strong pressure, not broken, colorful and versatile.
