Q:Water damage on ceiling tile?
you can paint these acoustic tiles, but you have to find the source of the leak. What is directly above it? Could the kids have done it from fooling around ? (they shook a soda can or a water balloon?) You should be able to tell if the source was from the room or above the tile (from the inside). Good luck.
Q:What do I need to put underneath a tiled countertop?
You can tile right over the plywood. It may be difficult getting the laminate off, but if it is 40 or 50 years old, it will be easier. Take an old knife and stick it under the edge of the laminate and see how easily the laminate comes loose. If it's easy, go for it. You may end up with some gouges in the wood, but that won't hurt anything if you're tiling over it. The thinset tile adhesive will fill in any gouges. Good luck! It's fun, and remember this: Grout takes away the sins of the tile, so if the tile looks rough once it's down, the grout will fix it beautifully. Have fun, too.
Q:Classification of tiles?
les according to the process is divided into: glazed tiles, quintana brick, polished tiles, tiles, ceramic tiles. 1, polished tiles: polished tiles is the surface of the whole body brick body polished / polished from a kind of bright brick, is a kind of quintana brick. The surface of the polished tiles is much cleaner than the quintiles. Polished tiles are hard and wearable and are suitable for use in most interior spaces except for toilets and kitchens. In the use of infiltration technology on the basis of polished tiles can make a variety of imitation stone, imitation wood effect. Polished tiles easy to dirty, non-slip performance is not very good. 2, tiles: This is a high temperature firing ceramic tile, is the hardest of all the tiles. The tiles are more demanding than the polished tiles. Requires a better press, can suppress a higher density, the firing temperature is higher, to achieve full porcelain. The tiles are reinforced polished tiles. The surface does not need to be polished. Can be more resistant to dirt. Polished tiles and tiles are relatively beautiful, high wear resistance, generally used in the living room.
Q:wood or tile flooring in my bedroom?
I suggest going with the wood flooring. Tile really does not make sense in a bedroom both aesthetically and in practicality. Tile is cold so your feet will always touch down on cold tile when you get out of bed. Plus it is very hard, so if grandma drops anything breakable on tile it is almost certain to break. The grout between the tiles is difficult to clean and stains easily. Hardwood or the newer 'hardwood' laminate flooring are both superior options for a bedroom. If you're worried about grandma's oopses, buy an inexpensive throw rug for the area she is likely to sit at and spot clean it when she has a spill. Wood flooring will not show a ring from laying down a cup. A light shade of slate blue (grey-blue) will look nice with wood flooring. I would go with a white trim with the slightest hint of the same blue on your walls mixed into it. Then make or buy curtains with a much darker shade of the same color blue. Paint chips will help you find color families that look nice together and darker shades of the same color. Just remember that most colors on paint chips will appear darker when your entire room is painted that color. What I do is find the color I love most on a paint chip, and then I go with the next lighter shade of that color, and it winds up appearing to be the color that I wanted. Good luck. Remodeling your bedroom is lots of fun!
Q:How to remove ceramic tile?
if its in the middle, drill a hole in one, then chisel it out, once you have one removed the rest are easy
Q:What can you put at the top of the tile around your bathtub to make it looked finished?
We finished off our tile with quarter round tile. We used the same color as our wall tile but with a slightly duller finish. My point is you can use a coordinating color or finish if quarter round is not available for your exact tile.
Q:Tile floor and grout cleaners?
Nothing should stick to a glazed tile surface that fast and hard.. In my mind I have to ask you what else in the past have you ve been using on the floor and what kind of sealer did you use and how long ago? If you have the exact tile name and manufacturer I d be glad to help you. E mail me thru my avatar and check my qualifications there.. Get me any and all the products you ve used and maybe we can figure it out.. I do this with lots of people GL
Q:PLease Help Tiling Problem :s?
First you need to get the square of the room by multiplying the lenght and the width...6.25m x's 4.85m Then convert that into cm. Next do the same thing on your tile and divid that with your floor and that will give you the # of tiles....I may be wrong here but here we go.... 6.25 * 4.85 = 30.3125 *100 = 3031.25 sq cm ROOM 20 * 6 = 180 sq cm TILE 3031.25 / 180 = 17 tiles I am sure that this is off I would suggest if a room is 12 x 18 ft giving 216 sq ft and a box of tile at a 1.5 x 1.5 at 9 tiles each box at 20 sq ft would be about 11 boxes Another soulution is to goto the hardware store and ask the tile pro to tell you how many you need and give him the measurements lol
Q:Stripping Paint from Bathroom Tiles?
Try baby wipes. They are surprisingly effective on tiles.
Q:Tile Floor help?
Yes, okorder.com/... Can I offer some free advice? Once you start painting that floor there is no turning back. It would be almost impossible to remove the paint if you don't like the way it looks and you would probably just have to rip the flooor out or put another flooring over the top of it. If I was thinking about doing this, I would get some similar tiles and just lay them on a piece of plywood in the garage and do a quick grout job. It doesn't have to be perfect. I would do some testing with paint and urethane to see how it looks and how well it will hold up to wear. Lastly, if you decide this just isn't worth it the obvious and simple thing to do is use area rugs to bring in the colors you want.
