Q:Selecting same floor tile for kitchen and rest of living area?
Take pieces of the things to which you are committed and get thee to a large tile store. Go for the match and also check for contrast. You may surprise yourself and like the unexpected. Think about your soft good (fabric items) as you will have to find compatible fabrics to make it all work together. Taking samples of everything is really important, as your eye will not recall the subtleties. No one can possibly give a color answer here, as there are an infinite number of possibilities within a single color, some of them correct, others very very jarring to the eye when it all comes together. If part of your question is whether to select the same tile for both areas, my suggestion is usually, YES, to avoid the appearance of a hodge podge patchwork quilt.
Q:Where is cheapest in dublin to buy tiles for kitchen walls?
If you mean Dublin, Ireland, try one of these:
Q:Which one is easy to clean unpolished or polished tile?
Polished tile is easier to clean, but does show scuff marks more. Polished tile also shows soap film more. Unpolished tile is currently more in style, but styles change so fast that polished tile could be back in vogue within 10 years. Personally, I prefer polished tile in a bathroom, myself. The grout is a pain in the anatomy to keep clean, regardless...so, it hardly matters which tile cleans easier. Just go for whichever tile you like best. -
Q:repair Vinyl tiles on basement floor?
You can buy the vinyl tile adhesive used to put down the tiles originally or use the same adhesive even if the tiles were peel stick. You'll need to scrape up the old adhesive though, or the tile will sit a touch higher than the rest and probably come loose again. You can also use contact cement gel. Again a smooth surface is needed. Give both the tile and the floor a generous coat and let the cement dry to the light touch. Then stick the tile down and put a weight on it. That should take care of it.
Q:removing commercial tile?
There is a powered floor scrapper that can be rented. You have to buy the blade but it isn't that expensive. Most good tool rentals have them.
Q:can you paint over bathroom tiles? if so what kind do i need?
No, I've never seen it and there's a scientific reason. You know the brown stuff between the tiles? And you know how things contract when it's cold right? So because the brown stuff and paint contact in different paces, the paint would crack and it would look really ugly (it would even look pretty bad before it cracks) Just replace the tiles with the colour you wanted.
Q:Removing HARDENED concrete from tile?
If the tiles are a really hard glaze then you could have them sand blasted there are plenty of businesses that can dry sand blast as long as the tiles are worth more than the cost of sand blasting
Q:Difference between tile?
Once installed, no there is no way to tell the difference between ceramic and a porcelain.. Side views at a visible cut or whole pc is the only way to tell for sure. Pull up a in floor heat register ( if there is a forced air system) to see... A properly installed tile (ceramic or porcelain) will last the same , so porcelains ( unless a true porcelain and there is a major difference between a trus porcelain and the glazed porcelains most people sell) are over sold to the public. Both are good tile so don t over look ceramics. Any questions e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:PLease Help Tiling Problem :s?
First you need to get the square of the room by multiplying the lenght and the width...6.25m x's 4.85m Then convert that into cm. Next do the same thing on your tile and divid that with your floor and that will give you the # of tiles....I may be wrong here but here we go.... 6.25 * 4.85 = 30.3125 *100 = 3031.25 sq cm ROOM 20 * 6 = 180 sq cm TILE 3031.25 / 180 = 17 tiles I am sure that this is off I would suggest if a room is 12 x 18 ft giving 216 sq ft and a box of tile at a 1.5 x 1.5 at 9 tiles each box at 20 sq ft would be about 11 boxes Another soulution is to goto the hardware store and ask the tile pro to tell you how many you need and give him the measurements lol
Q:how to create a wet bed for tiles?
What is the sub floor made of??
