Q:What is the best material used to fix a bathtub tile?
Yes!! Scrape as much of the old glue away from the wall since anything you add will make the tile stick out farther than it did before. Next let it dry if its wet. Than apply some loctite adhesive to the back of the tile. Push the tile in until it is flush with the other tile. About four good size lines of glue will do it. Around the edges and then 4 vertical lines. This will allow the glue to expand and not hold the tile out. Wipe off any extra glue now . It hard to get off later. Let dry over night and than buy a matching grout to finish the job, Follow the instruction on the box. Good luck
Q:Accept the quality of tiles to pay attention to what?
On the stickers of the brick vertical and horizontal lines are straight, wrong paste the wrong degree of brick to be consistent; flatness is better, brick angle can not have high and low gap, can not have empty paste; cement mortar shall not overflow the length of 1 / Brick angle and edge line shall not leave stains, imprints, scars; reserved water and electricity mouth to the edge of the neat, fixed water pipe interface protruding brick surface height reasonable; residual corner more than reasonable.
Q:Is this broken tile completely my fault?
The tile is installed incorrectly. Water has soaked the blue board and it was a matter of time before theu fell off on their own. Tile should never be installed this way and especially in a well used shower where a lot of use will make it go bad faster. Nothing less than a cement backer board should have been used. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q:how easily does tile chip?
It depends on how well it was installed and what you hit it with. I've seen them crack from someone dropping a glass.
Q:What types of tile are durable enough for kitchen countertops?
i'm a actual belongings agent and accept as true with you. Tile w/grout isn't the 1st determination. In an time-honored domicile, new laminate works and looks great. the hot granite looking laminates are alluring, useful, long-lasting and prevalent. If on the different hand, this may be a much better end domicile or you basically choose to spend alot of money, granite may be the alternative. you ought to use matching or coordinating tile for a backsplash to tie all of it mutually.
Q:can i use porcelain tile in the shower?
I tile every day of my life and the direct answer is YES, primarily given the size of the tile. Tile has grades of durability, usually 1 through 5. 5 being the better for flooring. Porcelain is clay, just a finer grade, and usually porcelain tile has it's color/pattern throughout the piece, not just glazed onto the surface. It's fired at a higher kiln temp, so has an added measure of strength from that. More important than the species, is the substrate, which should be concrete backer board, and the mortars should be exterior or poly blends for the conditions a shower endures. Grout lines can be 1/4, but I prefer 1/8 for walls, and again a poly blend grout. Sanded grout. Sealing after the fact,,,in my opinion,,,is a wasted step and expense, if you've used the proper substances to begin with, and would need regular RE-sealing. Vertical installs are best done with small tiles, 2/4/6 inches, often mesh backed, and the first/lowest course set first, allowed to dry/set, then proceed up. You have Gravity and Shear weight to consider. I prefer floor to ceiling install. The shower pan/basin is another consideration that involves tile size, given that the drain should often be slightly concave to allow run off, even a pre formed basin often is modestly graded toward the drain. Etc. Etc. Etc. without rambling on about my opinions of install methods. Steven Wolf Just my two sense
Q:can you use self adhesive tiles on a bathroom wall? and can you also use them in the bathtub walls?
no, i never do it
Q:tips on how to tile a room in my house?
Go to u-tube and type in tile. Plenty of DIY vids..!
Q:glazed or polished tile?
You don t necessarily need to go with a porcelain. They are vastly over sold. They can be a great tile but not always stronger. So you know, these are not polished, its just the glaze thats put on them. Only stones such as granites and marbles are polished. Two things you have to consider of they brighter glazed tiles ( porcelains or ceramic) You have to think about the slip resistance on the shinier tiles. They are rated 0-4 for the residential settings You only want a 3or 4 rated tile or classified tile.the othe consideration is that the shiny tiles will show day to day dirt and water spots easier. Where your matte or satin type finishes show a minimal amounts. The larger tiles do a nice job as far as less grout but care must be taken when installing because these larger tiles can be slightly different sizing and I ve seen slightly warped tile when they get this big. They can be harder to set with a smaller joint, so make sure the installer has some background. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q:Why should the tiles be soaked before the tiles?
Due to the different water absorption of different tiles, there is no specific standard. But the end result is to tile the water "drink full", no longer take the bubble so far. High water absorption, the bubble will be a long time. Rainy season because of its humid air, time should be correspondingly shortened; heat dry weather, the time will have a corresponding increase.
