- Q:your supposed to?Would it damage the tiles?
- Not at all. You just wasted some vinegar and it might take longer for the smell to go away.
- Q:I see Dongpeng ceramic tile on the packaging that write what the site, and then write the OF, OB what, I now Tangshan life, we say now Tangshan Dongpeng brick are Shandong, is that right?
- May be, from the near the possibility of great, we northwest of Shandong brick more.
- Q:Has anyone every used Ceramic Tiles to re-do bathroom floors? I‘ve seen it done on HGTV but just wanted to knw if it was really that easy?
- If you buy a good tile cutter , take your time and use spacers it is pretty easy. It takes a few days because you have to let it dry good before grouting. Then you need to let the grout dry for at least one day before you seal it .IT MUST BE SEALED . Or all your work will be for not. If it is your first time I would suuggest using smaller tiles, easier to cut. And NEVER start in a corner!
- Q:why is waterproofing done before grouting?why do we need to let the mortar/adhesive dry before grouting?
- Water proofing is done before any tile is set into place.. Water proofing must be done on any horizontal surface in water prone areas such as showers. Not always done out side the shower area, but each case is different. You should allow the bonding material to dry before grouting so the bonding agent, mastic (walls in a non wet area )or a thin set won t bleed through and stain the grout. The only way to ensure of a good bond is to lift tiles during the setting process and make sure you have proper amount of mastic ( walls in a non wet area) or thin set under the tiles.. There are ways to check floor tiles to ensure a bond is to knock on the tiles to see if they sound solid. Hollow sound gives way to a no bond. And NEVER bond to just a green board in a shower or high moisture area. Failure will soon follow if you do. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
- Q:If you were going to tile an entire room would you start from the walls or floor? The room is only small 12m walls amp; 4m floor amp; is a basic toilet amp; basin. There are no border tiles amp; no fllor to wall tiles.
- I've seen it done both ways. But I prefer to do the walls first. That way what ever mess is on the floor can be cleaned up easily and it is not on the new floor tiles
- Q:I have installed tile around my shower and and ready to fill in the gaps between the tile. Grouting looks messy and I don‘t know how to do it. Is there a grout that comes in a tube that can be put into a caulk gun? Can I just caulk the whole thing? This one is new to me so any help is appreciated!!!
- In 20 years , I ve never seen grout in a caulking tube, You ll need to mix up the proper grout for your tile and apply it like the others stated ( pretty much)Rusty gave the best over all directions so I won t get into that. Wash off w/ a rung out damp sponge, going over it again at a 45 degree angle. Not over washing. Try not to get it perfect the 1 st times, you wont, but don t leave to much grout haze on the tile either. The type of tile you have will determine just how easy/ hard it is to grout. Of course I can t help you there I don t know what you have lol. Any more questions you can go thru my avatar and e mail me, and check out my qualifications. GL
- Q:I have plain jane 4 white ceramic tile and it does not go with my new room colors for my bath....can this be painted?
- you should go and buy matching colour easiest way thanks
- Q:I am looking at removing the existing wooden fire place surround (not a mantel, but some decorative wood surrounding the fireplace), and the 70‘s fireplace hearth, and replacing each with some nice slate tiles. The slate would be attached to the wall, and to the floor. Is there anything I should know when attaching (slate) tiles to a wall? Do I need to remove any paint, or can I get an adhesive that will bond (PL Premium or regular mortar mix?). How close should the grout lines be with slate? I know with marble you want them close, and with ceramic you can have some space. How do you ensure the tiles don‘t slip when attached to a vertical wall. Sorry for the questions, but I do appreciate any suggestions and answers!
- I would definitely remove the paint. Use a ceramic tile type of adhesive not mortar.Use a coarse notched trowel The grout lines should be as close as possible. It will look better not to be a contrasting color, better a black or grey. To keep the slate from slipping, you just will have to lay a few at a time, let the adhesive set up and do some, more and so on. You will get an idea of how many to do at a time by just working with them.
- Q:what are the pros and cons of having a ceramic tiled floor and a vinyl floor? house is in renovation.
- Any tile can go right into a bathing room and on the floor, in simple terms p.c.. what you like the appropriate. i would not propose something particularly slick, which includes a vivid marble or granite, or a vivid glazed ceramic. If put in appropriate, none could crack, even with form, except something unforseen happens, which includes a slab crack. 12x12 tiles would not be too vast for a small bathing room. go larger in case you desire. 16x16, or 18x18 even. the bigger the tile, the bigger the bathroon looks (it particularly is an phantasm) and likewise, the fewer grout joints to bathe. attempt your interior of reach tile distributor for the acquisition of your tile earlier you visit residing house Depot or Lowes, as they have a greater useful high quality of tile and that they are no longer particularly high priced like human beings think of. now and lower back you will discover reliable deals for the time of the distributors on a discontinued tile or a sale. determine you get greater desirable tiles in case one breaks or cracks interior the destiny, particularly substantial in case you purchase a discontinued tile. reliable success!
- Q:We have a big problem with our tiles in our bathroom, they wont stick. We have painted the floor with the pva. used (waterproof athesive) don‘t know if thats the correct name for it. my boyfriend has let his dad do the tiling as he knows how to do it. i told him to get a profesionals. but he wants he‘s dad. so now we have been having this problem. if any one knows what should we do or use different glue or something, that would really help., thanx
- Go to the tile store and take a tile and the glue you used and ask for help.
