Q:question about installing vinyl tile?
Yes, Vinyl can be installed over the top of vinyl. If it is sheet vinyl inspect for loose areas and cut a seam and reglue it down. If it is square (or similiar) tiles inspect each piece and if loose re-glue. There is no problem with laying over top of the old floor. I have renovated numerous homes and for mediocre money you can make a old floor look nice.
Q:How long to tile small space?
I love these how long will it take or how much will it cost questions. Who knows? How fast can you work? I could probably do it in less than 90 minutes of actual working time, but I do it for a living. Much more important questions to answer are these: What is the sub-floor under the tile? You may need to put some Hardi-backer under it before re-tiling. Remember, just because you do something the way it was before doesn't necessarily make the original job correct. How big of a tile are you using? The bigger the tile, the faster the job goes, assuming you have the proper tools to handle the bigger tile. Do you have any tile tools? If not, you will have to buy them or rent them. Since the area is so small and shouldn't cost that much to have done professionally, why don't you consider having it done by someone who knows what they are doing? After you buy or rent all the tools, you won't save very much money. If you asked me to bid the job, I could do it for less than $200 not counting the cost of the tile. That would include any underlayment, the thinset and the grout. AND I own the tools to do it properly. Good luck.
Q:on average whats cheaper tile effect laminate or actual ceramic tiles?
Actual tile will be more expensive, you can save money because tile is a total do it yourself project. As long as you dont have any crazy angles to figure out and cut you can do it yourself, just take your time. If your not handy it will cost more, but you will increase the value of your house so you should come out ahead when you sell the house.
Q:Porcelain tile cutting, need help?
If you'd tried Big T advise and it didn't work then there's another way. Cut the tile in two pieces and notch out the pipe hole with a blade for cutting tile (a hand blade) it's easier then tossing out 22 bad pieces.
Q:Dongpeng tiles I know more famous, but Dongpeng sanitary ware is their home Well?
Oh, the official website above to buy Dongpeng tiles to send Dongpeng sanitary ware, should have some.
Q:How to build a tile counter-top?
Just did this recently. We used a half inch of high grade plywood for the base sheet, then on top of that a half inch sheet of backerboard. Adhere the plywood to the vanity with a liquid nails as well as actual nails. Adhere the backerboard to the plywood with thinset and hardibacker screws. Obviously you'll need to cut out the sinkholes in both. After that, you're ready to tile. Use the smallest groutlines as possible for a countertop, in my opinion. Be sure to seal the tile when you're done. I know how to tile, but I despise it (especially some of the intricate stuff involved in countertops), so I just hired the tiling done.
Q:Bathroom tiling.?
My very strong opinion on this matter is to go to Lowe's or HD during a weekday morning, when they're not too busy. Get a handy-dandy little book so you have it with you as you go. Ask the cute lil helper at the store to help you with all you will need. Yes, you will need to seal the grout - they can find the best sealer, the best grout, the whole nine yards. Good luck on your project
Q:Bathroom tile quandary?
I am just real curious how you are going to hold the new backing in place. If you have that figured out I would suggest cement board. Sheet rock won't last and green board is little better. Use a clear sealent from the old to the new. (If you leave a little space - 1/8 inch or so, you can squeeze the sealent in.) Make sure non of the sealent is on the surface of either backer. Let it set for 48 hours. Tile and grout. My mother's folks all did tile work for a living. They would tell you to take the tile down for the entire wall and start over. In the long run, that is probably the best thing to do. Steven's answer was posted while I was writing. His recommendation and suggestions make great sense.
Q:can you lay carpet over tile?
Here's Removing tile is a huge labor intensive messy job. I would also want to find alternatives. :-)
Q:What are the high-end brands in the tiles?
Fair point that ~ Dongpeng ~ champion ~ Nobel ~ Marco Polo ~ Mona Lisa ~ Ou Shen Connaught ~ ~ can ~ ~ home decoration should buy tiles, how to buy value for money, desirable tiles are also Certain knowledge, in general, the principle of buying tiles is: a look, two listen, three drops of water, four feet. First, look at the appearance. Tile color to be uniform, surface finish and flatness is better, the surrounding rules, pattern integrity. Second, listen to the sound. With a hard light flick, the sound the more crisp, the higher the degree of porcelain, the better the quality. Third, the drip test. Can be water droplets in the back of the tiles, watching the water spread after the infiltration of the speed, in general, the slower the water, indicating that the greater the density of the tiles; The higher the accuracy of the tile side, the better the effect after paving. hope this helps
