Q:Why aren't all plastic beverage bottles an Enso Biodegradable plastic bottle?
First biodegrade plastics are not a solution. It is closer to a temporary measure. They are more about claiming your product is eco-friendly then eco-actually being friendly. Plastic bottles that store beer are type 1, PET plastic. There are many types of plastic, but you can only use PET for beer. The reason is most plastics leach out chemicals to the beer inside (it contains alcohol, a solvent). Even biodegradable bottles do.
Q:Plastic In The Landfills?
According to various sources around the web: There are an estimated 500 billion to 1 trillion plastic bags consumed worldwide each year. That comes out to over one million per minute. Billions end up as litter each year. These billions that are draped on trees and bushes and blowing around our streets, deserts, mountains and beaches are perhaps an even bigger problem than the amount of plastic that ends up in landfills. I imagine in Coastal communities like San Fran, they are also concerned with the marine life that is injured, tortured and killed by this waste product. According to the nonprofit Center for Marine Conservation, plastic bags are among the top 12 garbage items most often found in coastal cleanups. In Ireland an extremely successful plastic bag consumption tax, or PlasTax, introduced in 2002 reduced consumption by 90%. Approximately 18,000,000 liters of oil have been saved due to this reduced production. Governments around the world are considering implementing similar measures. My full article on this subject referenced below.
Q:Is it safe to store foods on plastic container?
confusing aspect. lookup at google and yahoo. this can assist!
Q:Plastic or Glass? Try to convince me!?
Glass is heavier, so plastic is the first choice for ecomics. With todays fuel costs, anything that saves on shipping costs is beneficial. Both Plastic and glass can be recycled, but I think that glass has to win if you try that argument. I also think that glass is easier to reuse if not broken. As for tastes and smells, I'd have to split my vote. And neither substance will keep my milk from spoiling quickly. They say that the paper cartons actually keep your milk a little better, because it keeps out certain types of light. (But then you can't recycle)
Q:Question about reusing plastic bottles?
Disposable water bottles in time will start microscopic shedding of the base material and that's not good for you. There's a symbol at the bottom that indicates it's reuse-ability. However, they can be used to refill half a dozen times. Dispose them after that as per the rules laid out in your city.
Q:what is 1 advantage and 1 disadvantage of producing plastics?
if is biodegradable: advantage: less pollution (land and air)w hen is disposed disadvantage: more costly to make biodegradable plastics. factory process is more complicated
Q:plastic surgery in Canada?
They can and do. American patients are just not that many. They can come for treatment but the fees they pay are similar to home so not much demand for Health Tourism.
Q:help with plastic!!?
For alternatives to plastic, you need to look at the environmental and recycling sites. Plastic is used because it is robust and lightweight. We used to use rubber, cork, wood, various metals. Plastic is used in a lot of packaging rather than paper because it is lighter and easier to handle with automated machinery. Plastic is made by heating crude oil (which you will have problems getting hold of at home). When crude is heated, the high octane stuff comes off first and that is used for aircraft, less volatile stuff is used for transport, then comes diesel, the heavy stuff that's left is used as tar, nylon, and plastics, then comes tarmac for roads etc. If you try making this at home, you will be killed for wrecking the kitchen :-)
