- I believe the word mag is in reference to magnesium the metal. A common misconception is that it refers to the heavy spokes a wheel might have. Magnesium is a silver colored metal. and it burns very hot that is why they are not used very commonly for obvious reasons. I think some of the mustangs in the late 70's had them. Hope this helps.

- Yes. Just swap out the hub. The only problem is that with a fixed gear wheel, it will usually add more stress to the rear wheel so you'll want at least a 32 hole rear wheel set up. You can run 24 spokes but do so at your own risk. This back wheel is only designed for 24 spokes. Even if you bought a 32 hole hub, the rim only holds 24. Sorry, but that's a fact.

- 4 Wheel Drive is the best. though All Wheel Drive is basically the same thing. Either of those beats front or rear wheel drive. Those people up top don't know what they are talking about. If you have 4 wheels providing the power then you have better ability to stay on the road. I live in Colorado and it is very, very icy here. My car is 4wd, my friend has front wheel drive. he can go half as fast as me and still be sliding out everywhere while I'm going twice as fast with no problems at all.

If you are not however planning on extreme riding then my advice is to go to your local halfords and they will have some cheap wheels knocking about!
