Q:37KW how many contactors does the pump need to start directly?
First of all, you have to see what voltage you use If 380V then current per KW is about 2A, if it is 660V per KW at about 1.1A, then it is the starting current is 3 to 7 times for the starting current, but for the moment, 380V voltage: 37*2=74A 100A on the line, 660V voltage: 37*1.1=40.7A 63A on the line.
Q:water pump replacement..some opinions needed, electrical or not?
Most 1973 era vehicles have a clutch on the fan which stops turning at higher engine rpm which saves horsepower. Your best option is to locate a high capacity water pump for your car or locate a radiator with more passes than the stock radiator. A radiator shop should be able to give you advise on both. Remember, the water pump is belt driven along with several other items on the engine, so replacing the water pump with an electric one might be far more involved and expensive. Plus, the water pump has a seal that must work properly for the engine to retain its cooling fluid. There are aftermarket cooling fans that can be installed in front of or behind the radiator to provide additional air flow, the local auto parts store should have a listing or a company like Summit. Fans can be manually turned on or have a thermo swithch which turns the fan on at a certain temp. These are usually options with the electric fan kits. Good luck.
Q:Water pump removal?
Just because the car is overheating doesn't mean the water pump is bad. I'd check the thermostat first. It's probably cheaper and easier to change to begin with and you should change it even if you do replace the water pump.
Q:Alpha one outdrive, Water pump installation?
This is a simple repair but I'd recommend that you get a service manual, ether a factory manual or one of the generic Seloc manuals. The key things to do are mark the trim tab so you can put it back in the same position after repairs. Drain the oil. Removing the bolt that is in the hole at the back end of the upper housing, as well as all the obvious Nuts. both above and under the cavitation plate. Put the drive in forward gear, which takes the tension off the shift shaft. Once all the nuts and bolt are loose. Jiggle the drive and it will separate from the upper housing. You now have access to the water pump housing. Remove the housing and pull it up and off the d. Shaft. Inspect fully and account for missing impeller blades. When you re assemble Lube the impeller and put the drive key in place and put the impeller in place. Slide the housing down to the impeller. You can use ether th drive shaft or the propeller to turn the drive shaft in a clockwise direction as you apply pressure on the housing, It should slide down over the impeller. Reassemble in reverse order. Slide the drive shaft up into the upper housing turning the D. shaft using the prop to turn the shaft. Watch the water tube slip into the guide tube. Once it's in place put a couple nuts on then check the gear shift to make sure it goes F-N-R. Bolt up and fill with oil. Good Luck!
Q:Water pump setup?
Water pump setup? We bought a plot of land and me and my father found a deactivated water well in there. We checked and it's 328 feet deep and is still full of water. How would i go about setting up a pump on it? Best thing to do is call a plumber and ask about hooking up a well to a house. You can use a submersible pump or have the pump located somewhere near the well head or in a building nearby (a pump house say). Because it is so involved and back-breaking work, it is better to hire a PRO.
Q:A submersible aquarium water pump for a camp shower?
Have been camping on daughters property in upper Michigan for a few years. No water (unless hauled in) no electric, and no gas. We use the shower bags that you fill and heat in the sun. We get two showers out of each 5 gallon bag. Sometimes the water is too hot to use. Check this out before you go spending money on something else.
Q:how many water pumps are in a volvo penta?
So far the only other answer is dead wrong. Your Bayliner has a raw water pump mounted inside the boat. Depending on HP it might be on the front of the crankshaft, or opposite the alternator on the AQ120-140 motors. Then there is a second water pump, which circulates the water through the block. There is no 3rd water pump. None of the Volvo engines have a water pump in the stern drive. I repeat none! The Raw water pump is a rubber impeller. The Thermostat can also be blocked and cause overheating. In some cases it's actually rust/crud that block the exhaust elbows which in turn blocks flow. If you run it on a flush attachment you might be able to check blockages by the amount of water exhausted from the transom/drive. You can edit your question with your specific engine. It takes 7 to 10 min to replace the water pump impeller. You do not have to prime the water pump....ever. Do not however run with out water. Either being in the lake,Bay. ocean, or using the correct flush attachment.
Q:How do you know if the water pump on a car is bad?
this sounds more like a radiator problem, or possibly an electric fan, if there is on. Usually the water pump will lose the weep hole gasket on the bottom of the water pump and dump water when its running, but quits when you stop. A water pump bearing can start to sieze, you may notice temp fluctuating almost to hot, then drop back down. Take off the radiator cap when the vehicle is cold and start it up. let it idle until the thermostate opens. and watch the water in the radiator to see if it circulates at all as someone slowly raise the idle up to 2 thousand rpm, and rev the engine a few times, and see if the coolant momes across the radiator. It may be your thermostate is stuck partway, or the radiator is ready for a rebuild, they generally are good for about 20 years or so. I suggest using distilled or filtered water in your radiator if you replace it. There are many harmful chemicals in tap water, much more than people realize, and they can combine with chemicals in antifreeze and cause solder rotting electrolysis. By using distilled water, you minimize this risk and studies by major radiator companies have been proven to make radiators last a lot longer if a minimum amount of care is taken, like changing antifreeze every few years, and using distilled water as much as possible. I buy mine in the gallon jugs. and top off the overflow occasionally.
Q:Is a 3000 watt generator sufficient to power a 3/4 horsepower water pump?
Danny and GTB give a good answer, I just add some: As a rule of thumb, 1 horsepower (HP or hp) is equal to 750 watts, and a motorized electric equipment at start up will suck electricity power about twice as much as its specification. Is you pump equipped with a three phase or a single phase electric motor? You have to suit it with the generator. As for the generator, if possible you choose a generator with big flywheel, with slower RPM -rotations per minutes- than a generator with high RPM, because a water pump will frequently on and off according to the usage. This could cause the generator to wave down and up accordingly. Or a generator equipped with an electronic governor that will react fast enough to the frequent on and off load of the water pump. Hope the best and God bless you and good luck day by day!!
Q:need help on how to replace a water pump in a 1999 ford windstar3.8L?
drain cooling system, remove the fan belt. Remove the lower radiator hose, Remove nut from both front motor mounts. Remove alternator. Disconnect power steering pump pressure hose. Disconnect heater outlet tube from waterpump. Remove AC compressor front bracket, leaving compressor in place. jack up left side of motor about 5 inches. Remove waterpump bolts and nuts. Remove the drive belt tensioner pulley. remove the power steering pump with the hose still attached to it. and position it off to the side. Now remove the waterpump and gasket! reinstall in reverse order. This is taken from the Mitchell Repair Software.
