Q:I couldn't get a name off the valve as it sits. It has a leak on the top plate and i'd like to replace the valve plate as opposed to cutting the whole thing out and replacing.
I dont think they sell just the top plate by itself even if you could determine the mfgd. Cut out the entire old valve and replace it. Its not that big of a job.
Q:My Rodeo 96 has a P0440 code (Evaporative Emissions Control System problem). I have visually inspected the hoses on the engine; double-checked the gas cap is tight; but have not looked at the fuel tank sensors and connections. I've noticed that the EVAP canister purge valve solenoid is switching non-stop (click-click-click noise without stopping). Is it the expected behavior?

Q:Can anyone tell me what is the industrial application for globe valve?? Please help. I tried to search in the Net but couldn't get.
Application Of Globe Valve
Q:I pulled the vaccuum line off the valve and nothing happened. I revved the engine and held it a higher rpm and still nothing happened(no vaccuum). Does this mean that the egr valve is bad. I have been having a problem with rough idle, and keeping the car running at a stop sign. I have already changed the pcv valve and that seemed to help a little. Thanks
You have likely got a bit of carbon in the EGR that you can clean after you remove it, I usually spray some penetrating oil into the valve hold my finger over the hole that I sprayed into and turn the valve over, if it leaks the seat is dirty and cleaning the carbon out may help. also push up on the plunger several times to be sure that it doesn't stick alternate carb cleaner with penetrating oil until the valve is free and no longer leaks when inverted. As far as your question the test you described doesn't test the EGR or the EGR solenoid correctly at all. On some the car needs to be in gear to actuate the EGR, all you need to do is check that there is vacuum to the solenoid and that the EGR valve works freely. If the EGR fails to work the check engine light should be on and you can check the code to get a clue as to why.
Q:I wanted to clean my 2005 accord ex 2.4 idle valve. I'm not sure where it's at any pictures or websites ? And will cleaning it make any difference
Probably won't help. Idle Air Control valves are blamed probably ten times as often as they are at fault in Honda engines. It is mounted on the side of the throttle body and has a connector with wires instead of hoses. You don't mention why you are interested in the IAC valve, but if it is because of idle hunting (revving between about 500 rpm and 1500 rpm smoothly and rhythmically), a bubble in the coolant is by far the most common cause. If the coolant is changed and not bled the normal idle speed can't get hot coolant to the Fast Idle Thermo valve (FITV) so it figures the engine is cold and the valve opens to raise the idle. That raises the coolant to the FITV, which then decides the engine is warm so the valve closes, dropping the idle speed, over and over. Burping the coolant, by opening the bleed nipple on top of one of the radiator hose housings at the engine half a turn until a steady stream of coolant comes out, should stop that. Do it with the engine cold.
Q:I have a 2000 Ford Explorer sport(2wd). I live in the Fort worth,Tx area. What would be a resonable price to have this valve changed out with a new one(valve labor)?
Valve is about $100 at dealer, $40 at Autozone, give or take, and it should take about 30 minutes, so I would guess about $150 max. I have same problem with 2002, trouble is it's on the transmission, and not that easy for a DIY. As to changing it, mine has caused the check engine light to go on, but has in no way effected the car, so I haven't bothered to change it yet.
Q:All i see is portal and l4d Valve must of discontineud Half life. Its been 6 years they should at least tell us the making the game. I guess this means half life is dead and the last one is ep.2 why valve? why? tell us its coming to xbox 360!
Not all games go on forever.
Q:I acquired an old valve guitar amp not long ago and i think it needs new valves trouble is the valves that are in it have no writing left on them and there is one valve completely missing how can i find out what type of valves to put in it. Could i use a multi meter to see what voltage etc is going into the valve socket and then find a valve with matching voltage. Thanks for your help Marc
I never considered VOX a crunchy amp, has more of a jangle sound to me. Not sure what wattage you are looking for. In my opinion you don't need many watts in a class A tube amp. I heard an Orange Tiny Terror through a Marshall cabinet recently and it was awesome. I am considering that head with the Orange 2 x 12 cabinet. That head is only 15 watts but man is it loud...and crunchy.
Q:and describe the direction and type of blood (oxygenated ot nonoxygenated) that flows through this valve.
Mitral valve has two cusps. The blood flows from the lungs, where it is oxygenated, into the left atrium then through the mitral valve into the left ventricle. From here it flows through the aortic valve to the rest of the body. Two cusps, oxygenated blood.
Q:Hi. I replaced my PCV valve but the hose it connects to is cracked at the end. It's still loose and I can pull it off with my hand. It is very hard to get it to stay connected. So my question is that while I am driving, what would happen if the PCV valve accidently disconnects from the hose? Would I still be able to get to a service center?
Depends on the vehicle, most cars may run rough, sluggish, some wont even run, every car is different on how much actual vacuum is running through the pcv valve that will determine if its drivable. Run it for a minute..drive it around the block make sure it wont die...then take to the shop.
