Q:Any way to fix a leaky CPVC valve?
Turn off the main water to your house. Turn that valve to open. Then tighen the nut on it (slightly), see if the valve will close , if yes; then tighten it a little more, then see if the valve will close. If yes - that should do it. If the nut is so tight that the valve will not close, then loosen the nut just a tad. That should do it, ......... now, turn the valve off. Turn back on the main water to your house -- and see if that works.
Q:How does a solenoid valve work?
A double solenoid has two solenoids, and when voltage is supplied to one (and not the other) the valve shifts. Note that if voltage is supplied to both solenoids at the same time, the valve will stay in the position is was in (i.e. it won't shift since the solenoids will be working against each other). This is typically not desired, so make sure you remove voltage from one side when supplying it to the other. If no voltage is supplied to either solenoid, the result will be the same as if voltage is supplied to both, in that the valve will stay in the position is was in. What this means is that the cylinder has no home position, so when power is cut, the valve will stay where it was at that time, and the cylinder will continue to do work in the direction is was working in. Again, depending upon what the cylinder was doing, this may or may not be desired. For Conrolling with PLC you may need to wire two discrete outputs of PLC to those two solenoids using relay. And the ON/OFF those two outputs as required.
Q:How do you get a marching baritone's first valve to go down?
I have played for over 30 years and have a few to many horns. But I love to play. Sounds like its time for a bath. Take your horn to the bath tub. Fill the tub with warm water and a little DAWN dish soap. Lisen to me and buy DAWN, not something else. Palmolive tasts nasty, and the others do not cut the grease on the horn. Gently take out the valves and all slides. Lay them on an old towel. Lay the horn in the tub on an old towel so you dont scratch the tub. Let it soak. While the body soaks. Wash the valves. The valve might unscrew off the top stem. This would be great because you do not want to get the felt or corks wet. Be very gentle and careful, use an old white sock to scrub the old oil off the valve. Now that the valves are washed, rinse the valves with clean water. Now, take the old white sock that you just used and twist it. Then you can feed this into the valve case on your horn. Pull it through each of the three valves a few times. If you are realy good to your horn, you may even buy a snake made for cleaning trombones and baritones and run it through every pipe on the horn. Now rinse and dry everything. There should be no oil or grease left on the horn or the slides. If you find any go back and wash it off. First grease up the slides with slide grease or lanolin. Then oil (not grease) the valves with a good quality valve oil such as Blue Juice, Holton or Al Cass. Use just a few drops of oil on each valve. You place 2 (Two) drops on at a time and gently slide the valve into the horn. Spin and with any luck it will play like a dream. Now, you need to stop eating before you play. And never oil the valves through the hole in the bottom, that is where all the dirt is going. If you must, oil through the leadpipe. I remove the valves after I play and oil them. They are always ready to play this way.
Q:How can I fix my noisy tuba valves?
Piston valves normally have cork or felt cushions so that they don't clank when you operate them. You may be able to get replacements at the music store where you get your valve oil, and they may have a repairman on site or on contract who can do a professional referb on your instrument.
Q:Faulty EGR Valve on 88 Toyota?
Hello, The EGR valve will not spray oil, It is an exhaust gas recirculation valve that does not have oil get to it!! Please add more info so we can better answer your question . Thanks for additional info. But I don't think you know what the EGR valve is. Engine oil should not be spraying from the EGR valve ! Maybe you are trying to describe another part? Also, You need to fix the wheel cylinder or caliper before you can bleed the brakes. Maybe you need a mechanic to assist you. Good luck !
Q:What is trumpet valve oil made of?
Valve oils use proprietary formulas so it is unlikely you will be able to find out an exact composition. The basic ingredients of petroleum (as opposed to synthetic) valve oils are light machine oil (kerosene), mineral spirits and fragrance.
Q:Water Heater Relief Valve keeps opening.?
Sometimes I find that the relief valve is not working correctly and needs to be replaced. They tend to get a buildup of minerals from the water that interferes with proper function.
Q:Articifical Heart Valves -?
There are three of these things: the caged-ball which utilizes a metal cage to house a metal ball, tilting-disc valves, which have a single circular occluder controlled by a metal strut. They are made of a metal ring covered by a tissue, into which the suture threads are stitched, in order to keep the valve in place once implanted and there's bileaflet valves, which consist of two semicircular leaflets that rotate about struts attached to the valve housing which is the most recent type, eh? So heart valves are considered to be extremely durable. They're made of either pyrolytic carbon or titanium coated with pyrolytic carbon, and the sewing ring cuff is Teflon or polyester or dracon (probably dacron :P). They key to the materials chosen is durability because of the constant fluid flow. I see this as pure engineering, not medicine, specifically fluid mechanics: like if there are rare complications for example thrombus formation is a debilitating side effect of high shear stresses created by design of the valves. Ideal heart valve from an engineering view would produce minimal pressure drops of course have small regurgitation volumes because it's supposed to minimize turbulence and regulate the flow.
Q:how to replace 1991 honda accord heater control valve?
Do it from underneath. Drain the cooling system and cut the short hose between the heater core and the valve with a sharp knife. Unfasten the actuator cable, loosen the clamp on the heater hose and work the heater hose off it. Use the sharp knife to slice the remains of the short hose off the heater core... be gentle because the soft pipe is easily deforned (which is why you must not try to wrench it off). Put a replacement hose on the new valve and reassemble. When you refill the cooling system be sure to purge the air by opening the bleeder nipple on the upper radiator hose housing at the engine until a steady stream of coolant comes out. Watch out for the sharp edge of the catalytic converter shield! I have a scar on my wrist from learning that the hard way. EDIT - I forgot to mention - if the cable seems to be misadjusted on the valve when you are done, remove the passenger side of the console and look at the mixer linkage in there. The cable housings often slip in the clamps.
Q:97 Escort. Trying to prevent the dreaded valve dropping. If I maintain the engine colder could the valve hold?
If the valve has dropped you will hear a ticking nose when the engine is running. It the valve hitting the piston. This need to be fixed ASAP, With a stuck valve you will experance back firing or lots of smoke could out of the tall pipe especially on acceleration. Either way if you are trying to keep your car I would have the problem correctly diagnosed and this will likely means you will need a top end rebuild. These little 1.9L ford engines were pretty tough but after XX amount of miles and so many years it time for some internal engine work.
