Q:When hemp is legalized again in the United States. will you start to grow it in your home gardens?
Probably not. I actually like to grow castor oil plants more. They look better and grow really fast. And plus, who else can say you grow one of the most toxic plants on earth in your yard?
Q:what vegetables are the most important in a veggy garden?
It really depends on what vegetables you like the most. What is important to me might be different than what's important to you. It all depends on your taste. Make a list of what vegetables you like and eat the most. Once you have populated the list with your favorite vegetables, circle the ones you want to grow the most. Once you have those then you can figure out what to grow in your space. If space is at a premium look for compact versions of your favorite vegetables, or vegetables that can be grown vertically ( up a trellis). This saves space because the plants grow up instead of on the ground. Many vegetables can be grown in containers, too. These are tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, lettuces, peppers, etc. To save room, if you like tomatoes try 'Patio' or 'Better Bush' - cucumbers try 'Spacemaster' or 'Bush Champion'. The most popular vegetables grown in most home gardens are tomatoes, cucumbers, summer squash, eggplant, green beans, peppers, carrots and greens ( lettuce, arugula, spinach, etc).
Q:Is it legal to run a auto repair shop from your home in Garden Grove CA?
you,ll have to check the zoning laws in your area ,chances are it may be legal for him to do this, not all mechanics are bad though, there are a lot of good ones also, just a few that are like this, good luck.
Q:How can I ask a question to Dr Harry Cooper?
We have a beautiful 7 months old Moodle named Lily who has had a shocking start to life. She joined our family after 2 surgical operations for obstructions from swallowing foreign objects, the last one having had her at death's door. Our love and dedication (based upon our previous toy poodles living until 17 and 18 years), has saved this precious little mite but she remains a bag of bones despite eating two small My Dog tins of chicken or beef eaten quite hungrily one each morning and evening. Lily is no wider at the flanks than 7 or 8 cms and she stands with backbone arched in a most pronounced manner. She occasionally shows she is happy but often appears quite sad, rarely exhibiting any real libido. Lily has had regular normal veterinary care. We are extremely concerned by her skeleton like frame despite eagerly eating her 2 small tins of My Dog each day. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Our sincere thanks, Bill Riley
Q:Can you explain the meaning of this statement?
The average size of a home garden in the united states is 663 square feet.
Q:I am looking for an older cookbook?
I collect old cook books but have just moved and ot all my books are out. I have a book written by Joslin in about 1918 . It puts fruits and veggies in to categories.Veggies such as lettuce, cucumber and celery go into the eat all you want section. Next comes the veggies you have to thrice boil for hours to even eat them. And so on . He makes it clear that there are no medical interventions for diabetes and there will never be any . He claims to think that it all comes down to not eating as the best treatment . I can't find the book you are looking for but thought you'd like to hear about the other .
Q:we just bought a new home.i just would like some ideals in land scaping, and flower gardens. thank you.?
Q:What can I do about different floor temperatures in a duplex home/apartment ?
You can add in a few hot air runs if it is easy enough, OR get an inline fan to go into a pipe or 2 going upstairs. Try completely closing ALL your heat vents, as there will be small cracks the heat will go through, and make sure the upstairs is completely opened. Also, running the fan on the furnace constantly promotes better circulation, and granted you have adequate return airs in the house, it will pull the heat down from the ceiling and circulate warm air throughout.
Q:In a apartment and want to start a small garden!!?
The things to consider are the lighting and your weather. Which direction does your screen porch face? If it is facing north you will need to buy ferns and plants that do not tolerate too much sun. If it faces south you can purchase plants that need lots of sun like Jade and other full sun plants and vegetables. You will want to consider your weather if any of your plants will get very big and need to be brought in in the winter. Some plants can handle freezing others will die. You can put some plants on tiers in smaller containers. It might help to look in magazines or the Internet for pictures of gardens. Better Homes and Gardens magazine is a good one with lots of ideas. You might just want to go to a garden center and look around at container designs, plants, etc. Come springtime the garden centers have so, so many choices. Having a garden is very pleasing to so many - I wish you luck:)
Q:Is Gardening a Girl's Thing?
Some of the most famous garden designers and gardeners in the UK are men - so don't let anyone put you off. Growing fruit and vegetables is great - I grow blackcurrants, raspberries, wild strawberries, courgettes and green beans and my daughters (one of whom is 13) loves eating them off the bushes - well the raspberries anyway! Flowers are good in a veg garden because they encourage bees and other pollinators. Sounds to me like you should find out about cottage gardens because they mix up flowers and veggies - might be worth looking at the website below under Cottage Gardens for some info on the type of flowers you might try. Go for it - and good luck!
