(You will use it later when you buy the aftermarket head unit)

If you look closely you will probably find the green wire in the ceiling is only attached to the junction box, connect all green and bare wires together, whites together and blacks and reds together, I'm sorry to tell you that you do not have enough wires present to control the fan and light separately, which is why they have chains, and you will have to use them. It sounds like the installation you have may allow the use of X10 modules for independent switching if it is needed. Be aware, your ceiling j-box may not be UL an NEC approved for fan installation. Ground wires are allowed to be either green or bare, and fixture ground wires are not required by ul to be copper, and all grounds should be attached together.

You'd need a wireless router 1. Start Menu 2 .Connect to Go into wireless connections I.E. if your computer doesn't find the router that the wireless is hooked up to- than you need a WIRELESS ROUTER to do so.

Q:I want to know what the definition is of a hot wire gauge.

A hot wire gage is a tool that tells you which wire(s) are hot meaning that they have electricity running through them. If you go to the tool store you would ask for a voltage detector. These are about the size of a pen. They light up and beep when the detect voltage. I highly recommend having one when doing electrical. There is nothing worse than grabbing a wire that you thought was powered off only to get lit up. Hope this helps.

While a wiring harness isn't strictly necessary, It's highly recommended. The wiring color code on an aftermarket head unit will match up properly with a vehicle-specific wiring harness. The wire colors of your vehicle wiring will NOT be the same as the wire colors on your aftermarket unit. You have to match the wires up according to function, not according to color.

Hard wired wall lights have to have the ability to be mounted to the electrical box which would house the connections. If you could mount the lights to a box cover and then to the box I think it would work fine.

Q:I bought a new light that holds two light bulbs for my bathroom and quickly took off the old light. I then noticed that wall had three wires coming from it, a black, red, and white. The light however has four wires coming from it, 2 whites and 2 blacks. How do i wire this properly so both light bulbs can be turned on and off simultaneously?

Greater wire length will certainly give you a higher resistance. Since heat is measured in watts, and watts (W) =I^2R, where I=Current and R= resistance, then if you double the resistance of a wire (by making it twice as long) you also double the ammount of watts lost in the wire. Since watts equates to heat, this ammount of heat will make the wire hotter. If you use an extension lead, and wind it round a drum, it can get very hot indeed.
