well loxotox is right if you are asking about power wire but for SPEAKER wire i would get no less than 12 guage speaker wire and in that case the bigger the better

check to see if that power lead from your car has power with the ignition off if it does that will be your memory wire and you will need to run another wire from your fuse block on an accsesory that is controlled by the ignition switch for the cd player to be able to turn on and off with the car its not a very hard job once you figure out the starting point

No. Even if the wire is undersized there would have had to have been a LOT of voltage drop in the 2 awg compared to the 1/0 awg wire, AND the amp would have to be loosely regulated for there to be any significant improvement. Q:How do i install flat wire speaker cables?
The flat wire is what you run under carpets, along baseboards, etc. The four wires allow you to run a pair of speaker wires (two sets of two) from your receiver to the general location where the speakers will be. The terminal blocks allow you to run regular speaker wires from the receiver to the flat wire. The terminal block at the other end then lets you run speaker wire from a terminal block at the other end of the flat wire to the pair of speakers that wire feeds. It doesn't matter which wire goes to which speaker, as long as you wire it up correctly. That is, you can have the first terminal be the + wire for the first speaker, the second the - wire for that speaker, and the third and fourth wires being the + and - wires for the second speaker.

Q:How do I wire a single-pole dimmer switch using 14-3 wire?
Before you go cutting any wires, please verify what each is to/for. I am concerned that the 14-3 is not the incoming from the panel. There is a chance for 2 other possibilities: 1) The power is fed from the light fixture (using the 14-3). If this is the case, the black will be the constant hot and the red will be the switched power returning to the fixture. 2) The 14-3 is actually the wire to the receptacle for a half-hot (half switched receptacle). If I am wrong, then so be it. If I am correct it will totally change how this gets connected. If you have already cut that red wire, you'll be regretting it.
