Q:like in movies how do you connect like some wire to start the car? also which wires? I'm curious not trying to take anyone's car.
Modern cars cannot be started that away. The older ie 1974 and younger can be.
Q:Trying to wire up a toogle swithch for boat light. Have a positive and negiative wire coming from the battery. I have 2 wires coming out of the toggle switch and two wires coming from the light. What goes where? Thanks
Like so: Battery (+) to inline fuse holder (within 6 inches of the battery). Fuse holder to switch. Switch to light. Light to battery (-). If you don't know what amp fuse you need, 3 amps should be more than enough in most cases. Please, please, please don't leave out the fuse -- boat wiring is subjected to a lot more shock, vibration than household or automotive. If the insulation gets chafed off the wires (more common than you might think) you can get a direct short to ground, which *will* get hot enough to start a fire. You really don't want to be dealing with a fire on your boat. Sounds like your switch is faulty. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ just read kilo's answer -- that's an interesting way to use a DPST switch. It'll certainly work, but seems a bit redundant to me. I just thought they were handy for switching two devices with separate 12V feeds (I used one for my helm lighting, with the tach being powered from the keyswitch accessory post, so it only lights up when the key's on). but he makes a good point; if your switch has 4 contact points (instead of just 2), make sure you use 2 on one side or the other (rather than the top 2 or bottom 2).
Q:When I am wiring my sub to my amp, what gauge of wire should I use? The sub is 750 rms and the amp is 700 rms. And how do I wire a 2 ohm sub DVC to a 2 ohm stable amp?
I would use 12 gauge wire. You want to hook the positive wire from your amp to one coil's positive, and the negative to the other coil's negative and then make a jumper to connect the other two posts to each other. Hope this helped
Q:I have a audiofonics adf-240 and I want to wire it to 1 ohm
you do no longer cord the amp you cord the subs. seem up the wiring optons on your subs and notice the thank you to drop the ohms. remember you will make greater potential yet your amp will run warmer and wont final as long except carried out properly.
Q:So basically my i have a ps3 wired controller but the problem is the wire any jerks or movement at all and it will shut off and i have to repeatedly press the home button to turn it on i am 100% sure its the wire any ideas on how to fix this problem?
It sounds like the wire is loose. To fix this, you'll have to open up the controller and reattach/secure it. If the wire is exposed and is frayed, you'll probably have to get a new controller. This is very broad because you didn't specify the model of the controller. Some of the wired controllers use the normal Ps3-USB wire, while others do not. So, trying opening it up and securing the wire. If you're lucky and it's a Ps3-USB wire, replace it with a new wire. Otherwise, you'll have to get a new controller if you can't fix it.
Q:ok, so i love making jewelry, and probably a year ago i went to michael's bought a roll-type thing of really soft, really, really thin silvery wire. a couple of days ago i went to michael's again and it wasn't there.as i said, the wire that i had is very thin, very soft, and also after you bend it, it won't snap back- it actually will never go back to being completely straight, even if you try to make it do that.is memory wire what i should be looking for?does anyone have any suggestions to what kind of wire i should get?
Hi - I hope this information helps you - Beadalon? Remembrance? is thin, tempered stainless steel wire that is used as a beading medium. The wire is corrosion resistant and will resist tarnishing. Like a spring, Remembrance wire is rigid and snaps back to its original form when expanded and released. The wire remembers its shape and retains its coil form. Sterling Silver Wires To choose the right kind of silver wire for your project, you should know how you want the piece to look and what kind of piece you are creating. You will need to consider both the hardness of the wire and the gauge of the wire. There are three kinds of sterling silver wire. They are: Dead soft, half hard and full hard. Dead soft wire is very easy to bend. It can be better for wire wrapping or for making wire beads but will often not hold shapes intended for wire wrapping. Dead soft silver wire is usually used by people who work silver because it hardens as its shaped and hammered. Half hard sterling wire is stronger than dead soft but is still quite malleable. It is excellent in wire wrapping smaller or heavier beads and is a good choice for beading and jewelry making projects. Full hard silver wire is hard to use and bend and not necessarily recommended for jewelry making - at least for a hobbyist.
Q:i bought a programable thermostat that says it needs a c wire to be able to use the remote...i dont have one of these wires on my old thermastat but im kinda understanding the c wire was just to power a clock on certan thermostats is there a way to rig a c wire to power what i need???
This Site Might Help You. RE: thermostat c wire?? i bought a programable thermostat that says it needs a c wire to be able to use the remote...i dont have one of these wires on my old thermastat but im kinda understanding the c wire was just to power a clock on certan thermostats is there a way to rig a c wire to power what i need??
Q:i am going to be installing a flood light outside, i am running the wire on the outside of the house. i have down some small electrical work light outlets and switches but not sure on running wire. i was looking at lowes at outdoor wire and there are different size gauges. just wondering what size or gauge is best to use for an outdoor flood light?
Previous answer was partially correct. There are building codes depending on your local government. Some outside wires have to be in conduit, some have to enter and exit the ground in conduit, others do not require it. However, the wire size is associated with the circuit breaker that you are going to attach it to and the length or distance away from the circuit board it is going to be. Don't try to save money and buy indoor wire however, stick to the heavier outdoor coated wire. It is best to buy a higher Gage and not use it all then to buy a Gage that is too small.
Q:Okay so my question is how would I wire these in a ported box with 2 terminals on each side of the box? Also, is the quot;Bridged Wirefeatured in the diagram negative speaker wire? Thanks.
It's a misnomer to use the term bridged in wiring subs. They should call it a jumper wire, or something similar. It's a minor detail, but it leads to novices thinking bridging is something done with subs -- it's not, it's the amp. Although since mono amps are becoming more and more common bridging is becoming a thing of the past as mono amps aren't bridgeable. The way I would do it would be to wire each sub to its respective terminal with the coils in series for 4 ohms.
Q:I have a grounding wire for my HIDs which I need to increase the length for. How do I do this?
Get a roll of cable from a shop like halfords and connect together with connector block. Of just connect the original wire to a metal part of the car close to the light. Just have to scratch a bit paint off for a good connection
