Q:northern lights ?
They are also know as Aurora Borealis. (Northern Lights) An aurora (plural aurorae/auroras) is an electro-static phenomenon, characterised by a bright glow and caused by the collision of charged particles in the magnetosphere with atoms in the Earth's upper atmosphere. An aurora is usually observed in the night sky, particularly in the polar zone. For this latter reason, some scientists call it a polar aurora (or aurora polaris). In northern latitudes, it is known as the aurora borealis (IPA /ɔˈɹɔɹə bɔɹiˈælɪs/), which is named after the Roman goddess of the dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for north wind, Boreas. Especially in Europe, it often appears as a reddish glow on the northern horizon, as if the sun were rising from an unusual direction. The aurora borealis is also called the northern lights since it is only visible in the North sky from the Northern Hemisphere. The aurora borealis most often occurs from September to October and from March to April. Its southern counterpart, aurora australis, has similar properties. Australis is the Latin word for of the South.
Q:Does your rear blinker lights have to be only red or only yellow?
UK laws: Rear lights: - Indicators (blinkers) - amber (yellow/orange) only. - Brake lights - red only. - Rear lights - red only. - Fog lights - red only. - Reversing lights - white only (the only white lights permitted showing on the rear of the vehicle). - Numberplate lights - white only, but must not show to the rear of the vehicle, merely light up the numberplate. Front lights: - Indicators (blinkers) - amber (yellow/orange) only. - Headlights and sidelights - white only. - No red lights permitted on the front of the vehicle at all (not even for emergency services). Also: - No blue or green lights permitted on the vehicle at all.
Q:Gravity bends light?
Imagine the Sun and the Earth on a rubber sheet. The depression in the sheet from the Sun would be much greater than the depression in the sheet from the Earth because of the greater differences in mass. Gravity is directly proportional to the mass of great objects. Light coming from behind the Sun would tend to be pulled in towards the Sun deflecting the light slightly, altering it's path at the gravity well of the Sun caused by the immense weight of the Sun resting in the well of the rubber sheet warping the geometry. The gravity well of the Earth would deflect the light although not to the same degree as the Sun.
Q:why light acquires different colours....?
because the transparent substance changes the wavelength of the light
Q:are fog lights use full at night?
Hench the word Fog... The light is used for the fog. But yes they can be used in relatively dark places. They are aimed more toward the road, because fog is in the air rather then the ground.. It helps to light more ground area up
Q:how does light enery travel?
Light energy is carried by photons which move at the speed of light. The energy can also be explained in terms of waves also moving at the speed of light. These explanations are equivalent. Light can be made up of different wavelengths mixed together, as from the sun. The nervous system perceives these different wavelength as different colors if the wavelengths are within the visible range. That is, color is not a physical property of light. It is the perception of a physical property of light.
Q:An introductory speech on light emitting diode?
define what a light emitting diode is. explain the basic physics of how it works. go over history: leds first widely proliferated in the late 70's -- appearing in digital wrist watches, digital calculators and other appliances with illuminated displays. but they were quickly supplanted by lcd (liquid crystal diode) technology because lcd technology consumed far less power than their led counterparts. but in recent years, led technology has been reinvented and is experiencing a renaissance of sorts. then you can go into all the current led technologies -- the high efficiency leds that can convert almost all the applied power into light, oled technology (organic leds) and why it is a significant improvement over traditional led technologies. identify applications of modern led technologies -- solar powered lights, tv and computer screens, etc.
Q:What force is driving light?
What force is driving light? None. Light is made of magnetic fields, electric fields and the energy that causes them to oscillate. We are taught that even if the source is turned of light keeps moving for ever Very unlikely. While light could potentially travel forever, obstacles along the way will stop or at least change the direction of light. It is said that that the light carries electromagnetic force. Incorrect. Light is a combination of magnetic fields and electric fields interacting with each other. That interaction is known as electromagnetism so light is known as an electromagnetic wave. Does this force drive the light or itself with light is driven by another force? Please make your questions clear before asking them.
Q:3 light bulb fixture keeps burning out 2 light bulbs?
The two keep burning out due to excessive heat. The metal base in the lamp (bulb) socket might be loose. There might be a glass shade over the lamps causing the heat to build up. The wattage of the lamps might be higher than the mfr recommended wattage. There are many reasons, but it will definitely be due to heat.
Q:Why is light so fast?
Light is so fast because it has no rest mass. Light can be stopped by both a partical and a wave, not sure how exactly but it can be stopped.
