Q:In pai gow tiles, does the banker set his tiles after the players do?
yes to main question
Q:crackling sound under my cermamic tiles?
It's rather difficult to diagnose the problem without seeing what is under your tile. It could be that you had a thinset failure, or perhaps you have a moisture problem within the slab. I would try and take up the full tiles where you hear the crumbling. It is possible that you allowed traffic on the tile too soon after setting. The concrete might have not been cleaned well enough prior to thinset application, thus thinset bonded to tile but not to slab in this area. Pull up some tile and write back with what you found out. I would bet the thinset is bonded to the tile, but not to the slab.
Q:Slate tile without grout?
Well i am going to dis agree for the fireplace i have seen marble with no grouting and the visual you gave me if its uniform slate such as squares or rectangles or a combo of both yes that would be breath takingly pretty. if its random odd shape the yes do grout. if i was doing a floor i would grout for fear of cutting my foot on an edge but then i most likely would come up with something new and contemporary.
Q:help with ugly tiles?
I would make sure with your landlord about painting the tile first, He/she may have meant that he didn't mind you changing the tiles, but doesn't want them painted. If you paint them and it start peeling off, you've then left your landlord with a headache to deal with after you move out. This can lead to small claims court.
Q:Dye Numbers on tile!?
Just buy a bunch of cases and mix them all up. See if theres an arrow on the back of the tile so you have them all pointed in the same direction.
Q:Does anyone know anything about these tiles?
They are generically called Calavera tiles and are made in Mexico by hundreds of different companies. In fact, just check Ebay for calavera tile and you will see a lot of them in similar designs. They install like any fired clay tile -- some people use them as accents with solid saltillo type tile. I have a bunch of them that I bought to use for a project that I changed my mind about. They are still so pretty that I use them for coasters and may eventually encorporate them into a design for my stone fireplace hearth. Yours look fairly vintage -- nice find!
Q:Remodeling kitchen. Do I replace cabinets or ceramic tiles first?
you would want to lay your tile floor first. your base cabinets are 21inches to the toekick so measure off the wall about 18inches do not tile the 18inches saves tile and easier to install cabinets if you have to cut the bottom of the cabinet. as far as your appliances are conserned, tile the fridge to the wall and stove and dishwasher only one tile under it. you wont see past the tile and you put plywood the rest of the way. easier to install your stoves' anti tip into the wood rather than tile. your dishwasher will slide right into place and would be easy to take out if you have to repair it.
Q:Home Repair........Ceramic Tile?
you can go and get it at lowes or home deport and sealing it is like cleaning your windows it is very easy to do, but if you still want a stud just call me
Q:How to use Workforce THD20 Tile Cutter? ?
=== use your search box == how to use the workforce thd20 == please be aware that tile cutting is a learned art ... you have to go S L O W .. and cut at a fraction of an inch at a time if you want to avoid cracking the tile and breakage .... it is not lik
Q:why my tiles don't stick to the floor?
Go to the tile store and take a tile and the glue you used and ask for help.
