Q:Mine has passed the healing date and i have had another one put in it's been over 2 months since i had it done...but there is still some swelling on the top half of the ear that is pierced...will it go down eventually or is there something wrong with it?

it will eventually go down. industrials can take up to a year to heal. don't worry about it.

Q:I got mine done this morning, and like the dumba** I am, I got it on the side that I sleep on. A friend of mine said she slept on hers the first night and didn't hurt and it was fine, but I don't believe that to be true. If I have to sleep on my other side, I could but it's very hard for me to fall asleep like that, and I often switch positions while asleep unconsciously. Any tips?

Unless you take it out, there isn't much you can do. To help me fall asleep (I'm a side sleeper btw) I lie on my back, close my eyes and stay super still. I don't think about anything, just picture all black. I breathe in and out slowly, holding my breath each way. I usually fall asleep no problem that way. You will probably turn in your sleep, you will just need to see how it is tomorrow I guess :)

Q:I have already got a cartilage piercing, and I was considering getting a scaffold bar. I don't mind pain, but soon as it was in an unusual place, I was just a little bit curious.

I even have had 31 piercings performed and that i think of that lip piercings harm decrease than scaffold piercings through fact the therapeutic technique is longer in Scaffold piercings. bypass get the lip piercing performed! :)

Q:Another from the ministry of silly questions…I’d like to support a lightweight tarpaulin over my back yard. Single slope, high side attached to the house and low side attached to a scaffolding pole, running horizontally between two walls. Fair weather, no high winds or pooling. The run of pole would be 8 meters. The longest poles seem to be 6m, so I need to use a coupling. Will this be strong enough – ish? I imagine the most stressed point would be just around the edges of the coupling, so If I used two joints/couplings in the bar, wouldn’t I half the strain on a single one?Also if I made the joints at 1m and 7m would that be better than to have a joint in the middle where the most flexing will be?Also bit more expensive, but with Aluminium the bar will be 20kg lighter – buy will it be as strong joint wise?Will a tubular coupling be as good as a external one?If anyone knows.. The problem with your proposal is that you realise that the wind/rain could have an effect but chose to ignore the consequences if it occurs. 'Proper' scaffolding is designed and such an unsupported span would never occur in a 'normal' scaffold so the standard calculations would not work. There is also the possible effect on the walls, could they take an abnormal load? I would look at theatrical or music stage hire using trussed beams.

Q:hey im 13&very mature&my sister got a scaffold percing&said it hurt like hell ..i want 1 ..2 does it hurt?

I'm turning 14 in 2 months. I just got that piercing 2 days ago! It doesn't hurt, getting it pierced. Although it hurt a bit the day after. It's fine now though :) I have a really high pain tolerance though.

Q:I'm getting one on Saturday, I already have double lobe piercings in each ear, and a flesh tunnel in my right, but i've heard cartiliage piercings hurt alot more than a normal lobe one?

I just got mine done last weekend, I wont lie its worse then a regular lobe piercing but every body reacts differently. The second hole definitely hurts worse then the first, but for me after the fact mine didn't hurt at all, some people say it throbs or burns but mine never did any of that. Good luck :)

Q:i have an industrial piercing but the top piercing(scaffold) has a bump on it making it hard to find the hole to put other jewerly in besides the bar. how do i get rid of the bump?

just clean your piercing with rubbing alcohol

Im pretty sure you can have retainers for your industrial piercing if you get it done buuuuut you wont be able to put them in for a couple months cause industrials take a long time to heal. And like the person said below it really depends on your skin tone and what color retainer you buy. You shouldnt have a problem with the industrial though cause people cant see mine if I have my hair down. They take up to 1 year to fully heal. You can swap your piercings out after 3 months but beware it can close up on you if you have difficulty putting it in. You HAVE to wait 3 months before you can put retainers in. Industrials are 14g piercings so make sure your retainers are the right gauge. Your ear will be sore for a long time dear. Mine didnt hurt while getting it pierced cause I have a high pain tolerance but my ear was sore and bruised afterwards. The healing process is very delicate and your ear will be sore for a couple months. Make sure you get the piercing on the ear you dont sleep on. I use a 50/50 solution of Betadine and distilled water. Other piercers have different cleaning regimes though, so listen to your piercer. I always clean it with warm water and use a Q-tip to clean around the piercing. Then I put the cleaning solution on and twist the piercing around GENTLY so the solution will go into the cartilege. I do this 3 times a day and i will do it for a month. Industrials are really delicate piercings so always keep it clean :)
