Q:Is it true in hockey the sticks are made out of wood beacuse metal would be more exspenive?
There is something called the Reactivity Series which basically shows which elements are more reactive than others.. but they are grouped as metals and nonmetals.. i dont think you can generalize all nonmetals as more reactive than nonmetals, or vice versa.. it really depends upon the individual element, regardless of whether or not it is a metal.
Q:Why is Magnesium a metal?
I think the whole if it ain't metal, it's crap thing is complete bullshit. To say you love music and to call yourself a musician means you should appreciate and respect all forms of music.
Q:What is your favourite subgenre of metal?
My fav metal band is Judas Priest. They're a British classic metal band. Check out Nighcrawler, Hell Patrol, and Living After Midnight (more of a rock song, but still great). There's also their song Metal Meltdown... That's a good one. Also, I love Iron Maiden... Another classic metal band!!! I'm sure you know who they are ;D A modern metal band... There's System of a Down, which is my fav. They're metal, so don't listen to somebody if they say they aren't... Just listen to their Toxicity CD. They're a progressive-rock/metal/doom-metal(psyche... genre. They rock pretty hard dude. Another modern one is Children of Bodem, which is more death metal than anything...
Q:What are the similarities between metals and non-metals?
I`m no pro but I`m pretty sure that most metal is collected from deposits in the earth, and then fused together by whatever means (melting, pressing...?) It doesn`t come in sheets, that`s for sure :) I remember doing a project in school where we collected a bunch of soil from the schoolyard and then tried to find and identify types of metals in the soil. A metal is essentially an element, right?... so ya it must be fused together after a large sum of it has been collected
Q:POLL: Metal or Rap music?
people okorder.com
Q:Heavy Metal recommendations?
they are, well two of them are, lithium and sodium are used to make some batteries. heres a short piece on group 1 elements (known as the alkali metals) from wikipedia : The alkali metals are a series of chemical elements in the periodic table. The alkali metals comprise the group 1 elements, along with hydrogen. The Alkali metals are lithium (Li), sodium (Na), potassium (K), rubidium (Rb), caesium (Cs), and francium (Fr).[1] Hydrogen (H), although nominally also a member of Group 1, rarely exhibits behavior comparable to the alkali metals. all alkali metals' outermost electrons lie in an s-orbital. The alkali metals provide one of the best examples of group trends in properties in the periodic table, with elements exhibiting well characterized homologous behavior. For instance, when moving down the table: all alkali metals show decreasing electronegativity, increasing reactivity, and decreasing melting and boiling point. In general, their densities increase, with the notable exception that potassium is less dense than sodium. All discovered alkali metals are naturally occurring, although francium is the second-rarest naturally occurring element, after astatine. All are highly reactive metals under standard conditions. Experiments have been conducted to attempt the synthesis of ununennium (Uue), likely the next member of the group, but have all met with failure, but because all elements with lower atomic numbers have been discovered, it is likely to be found in the near future. However, ununennium may not be an alkali metal due to relativistic effects.
Q:Do you listen to Death Metal?
Without metal, we'd still be cavemen and there would be a lot of broken wooden clubs and bats. Metals played a significant role in humankind's technology and it really took off after the Stone Age. In our community, metal makes our infrastructure such as: pipes, drills, computers, telephone poles, vehicles, signs, satellites, furniture, etc. Metals are also used to create other items. Concrete comes from metallic mixers, toothpicks from chainsaws, and even power from batteries.
Q:R&P, favorite band from each Metal sub-genre?
corrosive metals: aluminum iron tin non corrosive metals platinum nitinol (nickel titanium alloy) gold yes acid is corrosive
Q:Are many Death Metal musicians perfectionists?
Properties of metals : Metals are solid at room temp. They are generally hard and strong. They have metallic lustre. They have high melting and boiling points. They are good conductors of heat and eletricity. Metals are sonorous. Most metals have high tensile strength. They are malleable. They are ductile. They have high densities. Properties for non-metals: Non-metals are glasses or solids at room temp. except bromine. They are not as hard as metals and have low tensile strengths. They do not have lusture. They are bad conductors of heat and electricity. Non-metals are brittle, they are neither malleable nor ductile. They usually have low densities. They have low melting and boiling points. They are non-sonorous.
Q:Difference between metal atoms and metallic ions?
Depends on what type of metal, quality, source, where you're selling it, etc. Its hard to give a roundabout estimate.
