Q:I have two leopard geckos that are housed together. One male and one female. Today as I was cleaning out their cage I found a dried out, hard, dead egg. I‘m not sure how long it had been there for sure but probably within the last week or two. I looked around and found no more. So now I‘m curious if my female gecko will continue to lay eggs, she‘s not looking to large, just normal. And if she is how to prepare for them so they don‘t also die. Any information is appreciated!
if its the first time you saw eggs in the hidebox or in the cage it might lay eggs again 2-4weeks. you will see a sign if it is going to lay eggs. you will see the substrate in the hidebox will be scattered outside the hide and you will see inside that there is an empty space ready for laying. now if you see scattered substrate outside then you saw nothing empty space BUT you saw a mountain like shape inside then your leo finished laying and you can dig it ( very gently ) to see the eggs. prepare for a plastic container containing vermiculite. soak the vermiculite then squeeze it until a drop of water falls. then put it in the plastic container then put the eggs half way through the vermiculite. ( when you pick the eggs from the hidebox dont turn it up side down. just pick it up and put it in the plastic container with the vermiculite.
Q:what soil should i use for egg laying and also what should i us in the incubater
Diatomaceous earths. Perlite and Vermiculite (expanded).
Q:What is incubation vermiculite and how it is used?
There is no difference between incubation vermiculite and horticultural vermiculite, all of which belong to silicate minerals. Its role in incubation and horticultural farming:1, for turtle eggs hatch, with mud and sand is more convenient, safer and more effective.2, for the transport of turtles, moisturizing buffer effect, can improve the survival rate.3, planting medium, one of the main materials, and peat, perlite and other mixed use.4. Sowing mulch.
Q:I‘ve got 12 snake eggs incubating at 80-82 degrees Farenheit. They were laid between April 23 and May 5. I have been keeping them well watered, and they feel plump when I touch them, not squishy like when they were first laid. I know they are fertile, but I don‘t know the signs when they should hatch. The only sign I know of is that slits start appearing in the eggs, but I was told other signs begin in the 3-6 day before they hatch. So, my two questions are when are they likely to hatch, and what are the signs? If you‘ve NEVER incubated Reptile eggs, don‘t give an answer. Snake eggs aren‘t like bird eggs. Thanks all.
You can use the sandpaper or the steel wool. Either one would be fine.
Q:The soil is heavy and I‘ve had to hand-pick rocks out of it. I plan to dig in a few handfuls per square inch of horticultural sand. I had read that manure would be too rich, so won‘t use that. But should I add some organic fertilizer like fish, bone or blood meal? I wish to plan right away.
Add all three ingredients you mentioned, with the addition of worm castings (red worm castings have more nutrients), compost, perlite and lime to stabilize ph. Get some guano (sea bird/bat) and brew teas with compost. Dilute the mix after it cools and use as a quick release fertilizer. Also when the soil is mixed make sure too let it break down because all of those hot nutrients can burn and dehydrate your plants. If the soil is still too heavy add some lava rocks, they're light and porous and will help prevent compacted soil.
Q:The role of vermiculite
Vermiculite can also provide the crop with its own K, Mg, Ca, Fe, and trace amounts of Mn, Cu, Zn and other elements. Vermiculite has the characteristics of water absorption, cation exchange and chemical composition, so it has many functions such as fertilizer preservation, water retention, water storage, air permeability, mineral fertilizer and so on.
Q:A gardener needs 6 bushels of a potting medium of 40% peat moss and 60% vermiculite. He decides to add 100% vermiculite to his current potting medium that is 50% peat moss and 50% vermiculite. The gardener has 5 bushels of the 50% peat moss and 50% vermiculite mix. Does he have enough of the 50/50 mix to make 6 bushels of the 40% peat moss and 60% vermiculite mix? Explain.
Vermiculite sticks to just about everything, so I don't recommend using it for anything other than an incubator substrate. Not even for a laybox. Coconut bedding is also not good for a leopard gecko, as leopard geckos are not tropical. If it's been sitting outside, you also don't know what kind of bugs, mold spores, or toxins are in it. For now, use paper towel instead if you don't have actual leopard gecko substrate and need to clean the cage.
Q:i was mixed up vermiculite with water in a bowl for gardening purposes now i find out that vermiculite might have abestos in it? should i throw the bowl out or would a good clean save the bowl?

Q:my friend gave me a fig tree last summer its not very big would it be ok to keep it in a large flower pot as we only have a small garden. what type of soil should i use and how will it fair with the British weather.Any advice please thank you.
Technically rubber tree plants are figs. Ask Thompson Morgan, or Suttons for advice. They are two established British firms who know your area well.
Q:I am looking for the name of the type which the holes in the material are not blind and are through all thickness of material which has 2 dimensional analyses
