Depends on what sound you want. Drop A is good if you're using a 7 string. drop B and drop C both have make really heavy sounding riffs. drop D works too.

Divalent metals are those from the alkaline earths, and any other metal that has 2 valence electrons to give. As with any metal they form metallic bonds with other metals, and ionic bonds with the nonmetals, except of course, the noble gases. But don't confuse calcium and iron(II). Iron, for one, can be di- or trivalent. Calcium can only be divalent. So that you don't become confused, please get to know the periodic table. A good one will show all the valence states for all the elements. Soon enough you'll recognize most any element and know its possible states. I'll stop here.

Q:I get confused when you start throwing black metal sub genres at me. Im just now discovering deafheaven and people describe them as blackgaze and I have no idea what that is nor what post black metal is. Deafheaven sounds like atmospheric black metal to me?

That's a tall order. It includes all elements and all possible compounds that can be made with those elements. There is also the matter of concentrations and location for each of these items. Oxygen, for example, is essential for animal life, yet a deadly wast product for plant life. Too high a concentration of oxygen will also kill animals. How does one put all of biochemistry into a nutshell?

Deafheaven a combination of black metal, post metal and blackgaze. Blackgaze is a subcategory of shoegaze, which is a subcategory of indie rock, alternative rock and neo-psychedelia. It typically has guitar distortion, feedback and distorted vocals. Post metal in general is a stylistic fusion of heavy metal and/or shoegazing. The overall sound is very bass heavy, with guitars being turned down to B or lower. It is closely related to avant garde metal. Due to is experimentation and exploration of different sounds and uses of different instruments. Atmospheric black metal is more along the lines of a band like Ulver and Summoning. But blackgaze is influenced by atmospheric black metal. For more blackgaze look at bands like Ghost Bath, Vaura, Altar of Plagues and Alcest. In essence blackgaze is shoegaze and black metal combined.

Q:It just dont seem right listning to death metal and black metal.

Q:I love screamo and metal music and I am familiar with most, if not all Christian Metal/screamo bands, but i want more music. suggestions?

I'd say Pantera. I can't think of any bands prior who were termed as 'groove metal'. These guys created groove metal as a departure from pop metal and glam rock, making metal less 'mainstream' (hair bands were reaaaaalllly popular), and real. Dimebag Darrell (guitarist) was a main influence.

Q:Are there any other metal bands similar to quot;Mudvaynequot; where you can hear the vocals clearly, metal bands. hearing a blurred metal band is annoying, but Mudvayne is really crisp. I was hoping to locate some music similar to them. Any suggestions?

Nu metal in its simplest form is this; It has chords in no particularly inspiring progression. The lick from the guitar that used to form the hook is now done (poorly) with the singer's voice who can never master all 8 notes of a Key. The lyrics when boiled down to its basic meaning is this: I have a wife who loves me, two healthy children, a good paying job with benefits that I actually enjoy going to every day. Everybody in the immediate and extended family is healthy, but life still SUCKS and I hate myself and want to kill anything of beauty or value or innocence.

Q:Can anyone recommend me any good Scottish metal bands? The only one I know is Alestorm. And no -core bands please.
