Unlikely to get something that runs - or any sort of lifespan in diesel for that money. Google the generic Chinese stuff and take your chances. Apart from a lot of deaths due to not being earthed, gensets are very dangerous should any carbon monoxide enter the area that people are in and many deaths and accidents are attributed to that each year - the more this is looked at the greater the risk appears to be, particularly on boats.

This electrical specification describes some aspects of the electrical distribution system for a block of flats (apartment building in USA terms). A 3 phase power supply is 3 live wires and a neutral with 400 volts or so between any two live wires and 230 volts or so between any live wire and the neutral. Each flat would be connected to one live wire and neutral. A change over switch is a switch that can switch the load from one power source to another. It could switch between two mains connections from the power company or it could switch between the power company mains and a standby diesel generator set. An RMU transformer is a ring main unit transformer. The transformer would be the step down or substation transformer from the transmission line voltage to the 400 volt level. There would probably be one transformer for all of the flats, possibly two if there are two mains connections from the power company. The RMU designation indicates that the transformer includes additional components such as the change over switch and main circuit breaker as a single piece of equipment. Advanced features might include such things as transformer temperature monitoring, load monitoring, and remote indication provisions. Unless the features are enumerated, it isn't a particularly useful description. It may or may not include features in addition to the minimum required by government regulations. If you are purchasing only an individual flat, this might offer some assurance that the electrical system is modern and reliable, but it is a very poor description to offer prospective purchasers of individual flats.

what you need to do is run that generator with a quality diesel engine and you need to get some commercial companies to advise you the power, amps, and you will need to have some time off the line so your refrigeration will need to be of good quality to stay cold for 5/6 hours while people sleep --- or else you need to have an excellent muffler system for that power plant you probably need to figure how to have some farming so you get the farm discount on the fuel .

The power of the diesel is matched to the electrical power rating. In theory, the Diesel requires 21hp to drive a 15kW output and is actually 25 (or more). The Diesel cannot deliver more electrical power. The oversizing of the prime mover (diesel) helps to absorb starting loads and prevent full throttle operation at rated output. In addition, specific exciter voltage is often drawn from the engine. The bell housing and couplings which join the engine to the generator are also likely to be specific. There may be no difference. It will depend on the application. For example, if I specified an ATS that had the proper voltage and current capacities, the only other item of concern would be to determine if the transfer would be a make before break or a break before make type of transfer. In a make before break, it would mean the sources would be placed into parallel operating condition before one of the sources was interrupted. This would require the ability to synchronize the sources. Which means the frequency, voltage and phase relationship of the sources must match before they are placed into parallel service. Q:Do you have more insights into this? Japan builds great cars, machinery, tools and high-tech products. Their bullet train is known for almost zero delays in decades. Yet with the Fukushima nuclear power station we have flawed tsunami protection in a location known for powerful earthquakes and tsunamis for at least centuries. I guess no one should be surprised by a ca. 50 feet tsunami at that location. It looks to me like such an obvious blunder. Am I mistaken? - And I mean no offense to the great people of Japan who so valiantly dealt with the terrible tsunami crisis that I admire this very much. Thank you.
I understand that the designers had made provision for a tsunami of about one-half the height of the one which struck. Engineers regularly make calculations based upon past events. For instance they decide how much buildings need to be strengthened against high winds by looking at weather records for the past one hundred years. In this case the scale of the undersea earthquake was unprecedented. Basing their calculations on the biggest tsunami that had taken place before, the experts were fooled this time. I too wonder why the plant was not built on the other side of the island, where the floor of the Sea of Japan was far less likely to experience such a massive earthquake.

Almost anything is possible if you spend enough time and effort on it. The real question is: Is it worth it? What you have is a crappy motor in a junk car. Take it out of the car remove the transmission. Attach the engine to a motor mount like an I beam box frame that you have fabricated. Attach a generator unit to the end of it. Then you need to fabricate a speed governor of some type to keep the engine running at 1800 rpm to generate 60cycle power. Lets not forget your crappy high mileage engine. It might work for a while but after all of this effort you will probably wish that you rebuilt it. OR You can just buy an 8KW generator for $2000 JUNK THE CAR.
