Q:I am wiring a sony xplod amp up in my car and need to know what the skinny blue wire goes to. Any help would be appreciated.: Run a fused (1 amp, 14 AWG) wire from a fuse in the fuse panel that only has power when the car is ON to one side of a switch. From the other side of the switch run the same sized wire to the REM (remote) connection on the amp. This allows for full control and you never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the amp. The switch is so you can turn off the amp at will so as not to give grandma a heart attack in the car. You can find fuse taps and in-line fuse holders at any autoparts store.

Q:I'm trying to install a ceiling fan but I'm having trouble with the wiring. Coming out of the fan I've got a black, white, black and white striped, and a green wire. coming out of the cieling i've got a black, a white and a red wire.The fan's green wire is connected to the bracket as a ground, so that's out of the way. It's the other wires that confuse me. I've tried, white to white, black to black, and BW striped to red, but that didn't do anything.Any ideas? Thanks.: The black and white striped is so you can turn the light and fan on separately. So at the fan hook white to white/black to black and striped to red. Then at switch box hook all white wires together with a wire nut,then a black power wire to both switches ,1 for fan 1 for light. Then the red wire coming from fan goes to a switch and the black wire coming from fan goes to a switch. If you want to run fan and light at the same time and just use pull string on fan then just hook black wire and striped wire together at the fan.

Q:ok so i have 3 questions.i have an oldsmobile cuttlas supreme and i have a 0 gauge power wire that is 17 feet is that long enough???? and i have 0 gauge ground that is 17 feet is that long enough....and about the speaker wire..i have 8 gauge speaker wire that is 25 feet..is this a good setup.make sure u answer all these questions please thank you..: the 17 ft of power wire is going to be fine. Just make sure you install an inline fuse by the battery. The 17ft of ground wire is a little bit too much, but you can cut that down. Make sure you ground the amp as close as possible so the voltage drop is minimal. The 8 guage speaker wire is way too high a gauge for speaker wire. You would be fine with 12, 14, or 16 gauge. The length needed depends on what speakers you plan to wire up. If its just subs then I would say thats more than enough. If you're powering components, you will need much more, probable close to 100. Overall it should be a good setup though.
