- Q:I am making a unglazed ceramic tile-mosaic table and I know I have to seal the tiles as well as grout and then seal the grout. Can I use a tile-sealer as a grout sealer? Or do I have two use two different products?

- Q:i have a tile back splash that runs all along my counter including behind my sink and behind my stove. it is a small 1 tile, and i‘m pretty sure it‘s original to the house (40‘s) so it‘s getting kinda grimy. no matter what i do to clean it, it‘s so tough, because of kitchen grease and splatter. the grout isn‘t sealed so it absorbs stains. i keep seeing people say sprinkle baking soda on tile, let it sit, and then clean with vinegar, which would be great if this was a floor, but its a wall, so if there are any solutions, that would be great. natural preferred. i really don‘t want to replace this. painting it is an option, so suggestions on paint for tile would be appreciated as well.
- magic erasers are great for this sort of thing. if it's ceramic tile they sell this stuff that works really good call tile guard. use apply a thin coat to the entire area (grout included) let it dry and wipe off with a damp sponge. this also is a good way to clean your grout. regardless if it's on the floor or being used as a backsplash.....I wouldn't suggest painting ceramic tile if doesn't work and the paint won't stick.

It really isnt difficult. Caulking takes a while to dry, so if you have a hard time positioning a tile, you can remove it and replace it until you get it right. - You can put things over the asbestos but if you ever sell the house it'll cost y you. It's very expensive to remove asbestos because if you break it up and disturb it in the removal process everything has to be sealed off. I'm guessing a few grand to do that job. If you don't plan on ever selling you can just tile over it with little issue. You may not have to abate the asbestos if you sell but if you sell without telling them it's in there you can get into a lawsuit so be aware. He is right about it being only harmful if disturbed though.

- Yes you can just be patient and remove the loose tiles which should not be hard to do. The reason that they have turned loose is because of moisture behind the tiles. Be sure you have a good stable surface for the tiles that you put back to adhere to. You may have to lay a film of masonry of something to give you a solid surface to hold the replaced tiles. As for as glue, I would use a adhesive that is called F26 and it is multipurpose to reattach the tile. I will guarantee that those tile will never come off again.
- Q:I wanted to remove three lines of bathroom wall tiles without distrubing other surrounding tiles. These tiles were fixed on cement around 5 months back.. now we can see cracks on these tiles (different color)..
- Use a sharp pointed tool to scrape out the old grout. Insert a thin sharp blade like a putty knife under the edge of the tile at the top edge. Hit the handle with a small hammer, sometimes once you get the first one off the others come away easily and you won't damage the wall underneath.

- If the floor is concrete, remove the existing floor covering. Use thin-set, not mortar and lay the new tile. Begin in the center of the floor to make sure the borders come out even. Remove the toilet. It makes for an easier job. If the floor is wood, use hardi-backer or wonder board as an underlayment. Then set the tile.
