Q:I'm my history day exhibit board, and I used rubber cement, but the rubber cement stained the background paper I am using. Now, I have to move things around and organize my exhibit, and the stains are showing! How can I get them to go away??? Help!
Sorry but the stains are there to stay. You might try using some cornmeal or flour and let it set on the stains. They might pull some of the oily residue out of the paper but it won't take it all out. You might have to paint over the stains.
Q:How much is the cement board?
Good and bad can not say that you use there. It is in the construction and decoration are used on a wide range of .For example, the bathroom grid wall building exterior to do the shape. Fine decoration useful to make it decorative layer, the pursuit of some special The artistic effect.
Q:Would you recommend putting crazy glue in the draft boards locks, or cement?
When was there ever a non-military draft? I prefer crazy glue because it sounds more fun that cement.
Q:Can I lay tile on top of an old cultured marble top w/o cement board or plywood?
no.... you have to have some type of underlyment..... or it will come out like crap....
Q:is there a spray on cement moisture barrier to use under laminate flooring?
There are water block paints and such... but the cost would be too exorbitant for what you need to accomplish. ALSO.. most laminate floor manufacturers state that a 6 mil plastic sheet vapor barrier is what they require, when installing their products on concrete. (This goes on the concrete, then the foam underpad goes over the plastic sheeting) You can buy 6 mil plastic by the roll.... 10ft x 25ft, or longer.. in clear or black, and isnt that expensive. It's what the manufacturers suggest, I'd stick with it, or you're going to void your flooring warranty.
Q:should I use cement board or a leveling compound for my tile flooring?
On a wood floor use the backer board, on concrete use a leveling compound unless a 1/2 notched trowel can fill the gap with your thinset.
Q:I have laid ed cement board down but I did not stagnate the boards. Will this affect the ceramic tile.?
it's not as stable a surface as if you did stagger the joints. the tiles could buckle or lift near the long joint. if you can do it simply, re do the cement board now, it's easier than later.
Q:Sound insulation board effect and what is relevant
As the name implies, is to reduce the intensity of the sound source, can play this role is usually a porous material, generally common are cotton products. The most effective is the gradient of sound-absorbing cotton, the raw material is made of polyester fiber, but the density is gradient, what it means, that is, side is relatively soft, one side is hard, from soft to hard, soft side of the installation towards the source.
Q:i am trying to build a slideboard (he kind that speed skateres and hockey players use) by gluing a piece of particle board to a sheet of tileboard.yesterday i applied a generous amount of contact cement and put the two together immediately to dry. today they are not even sort of stuck together. what is the most likely cause?could it be because i did this in my dingy and freezing cold basement?or are you not supposed to use contact cement on particle board and or tileboard?the instructions did call for plywood and linoleum.
Contact adhesive should be applied to both surfaces and then allowed to set for about 20 - 30 minutes (until almost touch-dry) BEFORE bringing the surfaces together. BEWARE! Once the surfaces touch they will bond instantly, with no scope for repositioning. Leave the existing cement until thoroughly dry, then re-apply as per my instructions.
Q:When laying down cement backer board for a slate tile installation, I laid the board a bit too far from the wall, so I pushed it until it was flush with the wall. I think by doing this I must have shifted some of the thinset underneath, because I noticed that the board has a slight dip in it, of maybe 1/16-1/8. Is this going to be a problem, or will it be taken care of when I put thinset over it to lay the tile. This is obviously my first time laying tile.On a side note, when laying slate, is it best to use thinset or medium set, I've heard conflicting opinions.
If you use medium set, any differences in the scale you described can be corrected fairly nicely.
