Q:This morning when my bf took my car to work he said they worked fine.when he went to turn off the car he left them onnow after work he tried to see if they worked and they don‘t even move now. Its a 1998 nissan sentra. if anyone knows what could be the problem can you help me out. thanks so much!
Windshield wipers are run by a motor you may need to have replacedI'd say check the fuse 1st though.
Q:we heard a clunk and that was it no windshield wipersthis is for a 96 pontiac bonnivillewould appreciate any information you give thanks
Sounds like the arm that transfers motion from the motor to the wiper blades has come off; if you're still hearing the motor run, but not getting any motion, try looking to see how the arm attaches on another car. If you're not hearing the motor run at all, then it's probably toast.
Q:I have replaced the circuit board and the motor but it didn‘t help. They still stop in the full up position. When turned on, they function normally but when turned off, instead of running through the cycle and then going down, they cycle then go up.
Not sure what sort of car you own, but some GM models have a pretty in-depth way of clocking the wipers. You will need a repair manual to do it properly, I have been working on them for 23 yrs, they still are hard to get clocked properly. You nay want to just pay a technician to do it right. Its not a bad motor, switch , etc, it just needs to be clocked on the wiper motor and your problem will be solved. The most common vehicles are usually the montana, transports , grand prix, regals, etc. Good luck
Q:The wipers will freeze and stop working on all settings, but start up again after the car has been stopped for a while. Other things that operate on the same fuse still work.
Get it checked out by a shop. Do NOT add trans additives to it! They will ruin the trans!
Q:I have a 2007 Chrysler Sebring Limited. My wipers started to streak about 6 months ago so I got them replaced with Bosch wipers. They started to streak again after about 2 days. I had the wipers replaced with new ones and same thing happened. So I purchased a different brand again and again I‘m have the same problem. I took the car to the dealer and they ran various tests on the arms and springs and said everything was fine. They put in new wipers and said that solved the problem. I know that‘s not going to solve the issue.Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? Winter is here and I really need to get this issue resolved. Thanks!
Well, if its not the wipers then its the glass, right? Process of elimination and all that. I suggest polishing the glass to remove whatever crud is on there. I assume the wipers were not streaking before, then something happened, the wipers started streaking, you started replacing them, and here we are. Sound about right? Most of the good glass polishes are sold online. I think WalMart offers one called Glass Scrub from a company called Glass Science. You might also want to stop in a few auto parts stores to see if they have a glass polish (I am not talking about Rain X, that is a different product). Another idea is to polish the glass with Bon Ami cleanser (not the polishing powder). Use a soft terrycloth towel or sponge and plenty of water You'll prolly have to wash the car or rinse off the residue when done.
Q:ai have Rain-X WeatherBeater windshield wipers on my 2000 silverado. and when im going about 50mph or less, they work like a dream. They just erase the water. It doesnt matter how much water is on this glass, they just erase it. But when i get on the high way, its a whole different story. The passenger side is fine on the highway, that wiper wipes fine at high speeds. But the drivers side doesnt. When im on the highway, the wiper barely works. It skips the glass completely and just barely grazes the water just enough so i can make sure im still on the road. But its only the drivers side that does it and it only does it at high speeds.anyone know how i can fix it?
the spring in the wiper arm gets weak. replace your arms or get aftermarket springs that mount on the arm
Q:So after I have my windshield wipers on for a few minutes, my driver‘s side wiper decides to go rouge and flop the opposite direction and gets stuck on my side mirror. There‘s nothing I can do about it until I can get out of the car and manually push it back to where it needs to be. What is causing it to do this? Is there anything I can do to fix it, or am I going to have to take it in to be repaired?
This is a new blade it appears that a couple of bolts are lose all you have to do is tighten them yourself so very easy to do. I would check to make sure that the bolts are in fact loose if not then hopefully you still have receipt and you could exchange it as this would be a manufacture error not yours. good luck
Q:I just bought a little car and I love it, but the windshield wiper fluid smells horribly like cat pee :( Does anyone know how to drain the fluid or any suggestions, the car is an m reg fiesta si
Some people clean their windshields with ammonia. It stinks, but it get the glass clean. Put a hose in the tank and run it until it floods out all the old fluid. If you want to put something other than water in, siphon the water out or suck it up with a turkey baster.
Q:On my 2002 Grand Prix, my wipers go to the full up position when turned off. I suspect the wiper controller is the culprit but I don‘t know if there is a way to reset it. Started as a result of ice in the wiper well when I turned them off. I have cleared the ice from the well but that hasn‘t corrected the problem.
Viper rollers needed to be replaced due to wear and tear.
