Q:What‘s happening when motorcycle one of tyres suddenly explodes due to riding process? Can it even happen or do motorcycle tyres are so hard differently from cars‘ not to explode? Yesterday I just thought about situations when you riding too fast to see any edged barrier and ride on it? Will rider fall from motorcycle then or continue riding, just tyre will slowly release it‘s air? Or it explodes loudly and splashes?
Motorcycle tires are structured differently than car tires. and care procedures along with tire technology should minimize the risk (as well as riding technique and procedure). However, it is possible that you have a complete tire blow out. In that case, there are procedures to follow to ensure that you bring the bike to a safe stop without crashing. If a front tire explodes, you shift your weight towards the back. If a rear tire blows, you stay seated as you are. In either case, you should straighten the bike and keep a firm grip on the handlebars. Apply brake pressure to the wheel without the blown tire (but not too much, as locking the tire would most likely cause a crash. remember, you're already at a loss of traction). You'd be surprised how much control you still have on a motorcycle even with a blown tire.
Q:you know, the colored ring around some motorcycle tires, in the side wall. Often flashy vibrant colors.
It's called a 'Ring of Fire' and can be purchased as an accessory for any bike that has a stator (generator) that provides sufficient power to keep it lit. A mild warning. These types of lights have proven to be troublesome and some have been known to not operate correctly (eg. go out on you) However they DO look cool. lol so you have to make that choice.
Q:saw one for sale a thinking about buying it. I‘m guessing it was built long ago because the forks are really long like some bikes in the 60s and 70s. the engine is a VW 4 cylinder.
They're as safe as any tricycle, that's why the government banned the sale of all new three-wheel ATVs many years ago. Would rather take a bus ride in Gaza!
Q:Im super strapped for cash, and a tire store quoted me 150, I am just wondering if that sounds right. Thanks guys
HI there, Your copper pipe is probably a type L copper pipe used in residential above ground water or gas piping systems. The outside diameter is 5/8 inch (0.625) and is designed to be used with a brass swedge (flair) fitting, sweat (soldered) or compression fittings. See link below for specs. We used a lot of k copper piping in industry (which has the same dimentions) with swedge, compression and silver soldered joints. You got it right, Al
Q:Been using the 606‘s and like them a lot, but it‘s time to replace I‘m unfamiliar with others. 60/40 dirt to road use. Medium to hard pack rocky dirt trails (New England, not much sand); commuting and the occasional 2 day-er on the road. Anyone have recommendations, or tires to avoid? The 606‘s have been great to me, but I don‘t want to miss the boat on something superior because of my sticking to old faithful attitude. I ride the DR-Z 400s, thanks for any input.
it was aiight it was one of my fav songs on the record fow show tho
Q:I was wondering if there are any good groups of motorcycle riders in the Virginia/North Carolina area. I‘ve been looking for a motorcycle group for some time now and haven‘t had much success.
That's pretty darn good. Nice job!
Q:my new bike won't steer enough to make 2 donuts to complete the DMV course 1 MPH! I need serious help/advice. I know how to lean the bike! It just won't lean and steer at that ridicilously low speed! I need some practical tips not tips from a super cool biker
Your not going to notice any difference in performance with a simple muffler change. It's not a high horsepower V8. Except for turning it into another annoying fart can car, there is no reason to waste your money on it.
Q:What is the color code for the motorcycle. For example how do you unlock the tire.
because catbacks don't affect the cat or emissions hardware like o2 sensors they are all carb legal. Header wise if you live in a state that does not require the primary fast lite cat then find a header with longer primaries that are going to delete the first cat. Otherwise with any other headers you are not going to make any significant gain in power due to the fact that the headers are too short to ultilize harmonics and create good scavaging properties.
Q:i have an old bike (1981) nothing fancy i wont be racing, driving cross contry, i just want cheap transportation. my question is is it ok to mount a front tire myself just using two large flathead screwdrivers? or is that going to cause problems? i do have access to a bead sealer, so thats not an issue.
I would use two or three dedicated tire irons instead of flat head screwdrivers. Don't want to take a chance of damaging the beads of the tire. And I have changed a few tires in my day. Worked for Firestone for over 5 years a lifetime ago. I have changed tires I can stand in. Use the proper tools for the job. Don't take a chance when it comes to your tires. Good Luck
