Q:where can I find a conversion chart for motorcycle tires? That is, from metric to inches.?
You don?t need a conversion chart. Please read this carefully: 1 inch 0.0254 meters 1 inch 25.4 milimeters that?s all that you need for conversion units GOOD LOCK
Q:My back motorcycle tire wiggles and feels loose what is going on? tire does not move when try to wiggle it?chain is tight and secure. i can‘t figure out what is going on since nothing appears to be loose. chain was loose previous to this but only for a 1 hour ride and then i tightened the chain. how do i dianose this problem w/o taking to mechanic?
i would suggest you scrap your mustang and get a civic with a gsr swap.it would be faster and you would still be able to get 30 miles to the gallon
Q:my uncle gave me a 1981 Honda NightHawk 1981 CM400 (engine is cm400c.) the motorcycle has been sitting a garage for over 10 years and was covered and left out doors for about a year before i gave it a good home. This is my 1st motorcycle, and 400cc is a great learning bike. I know it needs new tires. I‘m handy and have most of the tools. please help point me in the right direction. -looking for recommendations for parts (venders) -general list of parts i should start with? thanksShawn

Q:2006 honda shadow spirit and need to replace the rear tire, I would rather buy the tire off the net then buy from a dealer,
Try replacing the pipes with PEX. PEX won't corrode like metal. The biggest problem with PEX is UV light but that shouldn't be a problem for most installations as pipes are usually in a basement or crawlspace or hidden in a wall. If you have PEX running in front of a window, you can just cover them with pipe insulation.
Q:Ok I am looking at tires and there are 180‘s and 190‘s and I get that. But it usually says something like 190/55zr 17. I know what the 190 is, and the 17 What is the difference between a 50zr and a 55zr. Thanks!
190/55zr 17 The second number (55) is the aspect ratio expressed as a fraction of the Tyre's width (190) Therefore the sidewall height should be around 104.5mm ((55% of the tyre width (190mm))
Q:I am looking to buy my first bike. I am trying to find one that has fat tires. I am looking for a sport touring, standard, touring bike, or a sport that is comfortable to sit on for long distance and can sit upright. Thanks
The best way to avoid buying the wrong bike for you is to rent a bike for a day or two and compare several bikes to make sure you will be getting the bike that's right for you. My suggestion is to look for motorcycle rental companies in your area. At the yahoo search box type in motorcycle rental (your city) and find local motorcycle rental companies. Then call several companies to check out their inventory to see if they have any of the bikes you are interested in buying. I own a motorcycle rental company in San Francisco. We have most of the sport touring bikes on the market including a BMW R1200 RT, Honda ST1300, Yamaha FJR1300 and a Kawasaki Concours to name a few.
Q:How long should a set of tires on a street motorcycle last with typical use.?
There's no answer to this. On a lightweight touring bike I could get 15,000 miles on Dunlop K491s. Few people get more on anything. On a 1000 sport bike I could burn through a set of high performance tires in 2000. On the fastest bikes, some people could go through them faster.
Q:and what ones are the most expensive to maintain? I‘m talking about routine maintance such as the oil changes, maybe new tires, etc. I‘m very new at this so I don‘t even know what all is involved in a bikes upkeep. Help me.
The smaller the tire the higher the tire pressure you need and the less rolling resistance you have. They are also liter and the less mass allows you to accelerate quicker.
Q:i‘m looking to get either a hayabusa or a zx14 i like the fat tire look as long as its not too big iv seen a 240 rear on a zx14 and it looked good to me i just wanna know is 240 too big of a tire for twists or whats the perfect size i guess i‘m asking
Dude, a 240 is HUGE and are usually only on cruisers or drag bikes. That size tyre would slow the bike up heaps for all the WRONG reasons. My MT01 has a 190 and compared to the 160 on my TRX850 the difference is very noticableI guess it would look cool sitting at the local coffee bar but apart from that I wouldn't do it.
