Q:If we didn't have plastic would we have to go back to using money? What would our cell phones be made of?Kid's toys? Doggie dishes? About half my car? Whatever would we do?
As said before plastic is synthetic! The better question is why do we use so much plastic? Can we not go back to using glass for bottles? How about taking my glass bottles to the grocery and re-filling them with my husband's much loved Pepsi. I only drink water from the tap or make iced tea in my reusable glass pitcher. I use cloth grocery bags. I purchase items with less packaging. Kids toys could be made of wood like they once were! The problem with plastic is that it is oil based. Making plastics buts carbon into the air. Carbon emissions are out of control. We should all be doing our part to reduce the amount of carbon emissions. If we stop depending on plastic for everything the levels will decline.
Q:I have a bunch of old torn up bass fishing plastics. I would like to know how i can melt them down and make my own. Do I need to purchase a mold? Can i make my own mold out of my existing plastics? What is the process for doing this? Thanks a bunch.
I am in no way affiliated to them, I just thought it was odd that I found this the day or so before you asked this question. I am going to try it before I start melting any of my stuff down. Best of luck to you. JB
Q:What types of plastic materials are used in making hydroponic systems?
There are various types of plastic materials used in making hydroponic systems, including PVC (polyvinyl chloride), ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), HDPE (high-density polyethylene), and polypropylene.
Q:Are nursery trays compatible with automatic watering systems?
Yes, nursery trays are compatible with automatic watering systems. These trays are designed to efficiently hold and distribute water to the plants, making them suitable for use with automatic watering systems that deliver water at regular intervals.
Q:I'm wondering if someone can explain to me why plastic is so bad for the earth.I understand that if someone burns plastic,it puts toxins into the air.And if you throw it away,it will take thousands of years to break down. But think of all the good things you get from plastic.Your childs bike helmetIv bags in hospitalsPlastic bags at the grocery store(which can be recycled!)So can someone explain to me why plastic is quot;bad for the earthquot;?
Most things that are left on the ground abandoned biodegrade sooner or later, even if it takes from 1 week to hundreds of years. Plastic NEVER biodegrades, thus keeping more trash on the earth, filling up landfills with worthless plastic just sitting there. If we as people would come together and recycle EVERY SINGLE plastic thing, it would save alot of litter on the ground, and would go back into making those great things like bike helmets and IV bags. The statistics of those who recycle plastics in any way is horrible: it's only about 5%. 60 billion plastic bottles are made every year, yet only 20% of that is recycled. We need to start shopping with re-usable, enviornment friendly bags. All of these plastic bags are going no where, they are wasting away in our backyards, landfills, parks, anywhere imaginable. Also, plastic rings and everything are thrown on beaches, and the animals eat it, then the animals die. Sooner or later these animals all die out. There is some upsides to plastics, but the downfalls far outweigh them.
Q:What are the best ground cover plants for sandy soil?
Some of the best ground cover plants for sandy soil include beach grass, creeping juniper, lavender, thyme, and sedum. These plants are well-suited to sandy soil as they have adapted to thrive in low-nutrient and well-draining conditions. They also help prevent erosion and provide a lush and attractive ground cover.
Q:How do you choose ground cover that tolerates foot traffic?
When choosing ground cover that tolerates foot traffic, it is important to consider factors such as the specific area's climate, sunlight exposure, soil conditions, and the intended level of foot traffic. Opt for sturdy ground cover options like creeping thyme, creeping juniper, or Irish moss that can withstand regular foot traffic without getting damaged or worn out. Additionally, selecting ground covers with low-growing or spreading habits can help create a dense and resilient carpet that can handle frequent walking or trampling.
Q:why do people still gets plastic surgery even though the outcome would be obvious that you had a plastic surgery.I mean what's the point?it's better the way before!
Well some people are very self conscious and feel like they're not pretty enough so they get the surgery in hopes that it will make them happier and make them feel better about themselves. Others may be because they got into an accident and broke their nose or had breast cancer and had to get them removed. It's usually either to make yourself look better or a health problem that you're fixing.
Q:Or does it thrive on plastic? What kinds of things are bacteria attracted to?
Bacteria can attach to and colonize plastic surfaces. A good example of this is patients with catheters who get urinary tract infections because bacteria colonize the plastic catheter surfaces. However, different species of bacteria are able to bind all sorts of surfaces, both natural and manmade, depending on the types of receptors they carry.
Q:I have a snail in my 10 gallon fresh water tank and I want to put plastic plants but will he be able to eat that
No, snails cannot eat plastic plants. They may climb around on them, eating the algae, but that's what you want them to do. I recommend silk plants, rather than plastic, however. Snails can't eat silk plants, either. Plastic plants can have sharp points that can scratch fish, poke them in the eye, or snag fins and tails. Not really your best option. Silk also moves and looks more realistic. With good ones, you can't hardly tell they aren't real!
