Q:Are plastic sheets suitable for outdoor playsets?
No, plastic sheets are not suitable for outdoor playsets. They lack the durability and strength required to withstand the outdoor elements and the wear and tear of active play. It is recommended to use materials specifically designed for outdoor use, such as treated wood or weather-resistant plastics, to ensure the safety and longevity of the playset.
Q:does home depot sell acrylic or plastic sheets? clear? maybe even custom?
Clear Plastic Sheets Home Depot
Q:Pink fiberglass insulation comes either faced or unfaced. On DIY shows on TV, I almost always see people using unfaced insulation and putting a sheet of plastic visqueen over the studs, rather than using faced insulation and not needing visqueen. Which method is better?
There is a new thought on this.Using vapor barrier in homes has been popular for the last 15 or so years. They have been making houses tighter and tighter, resulting in having to install air exchange units. Since a lot of these homes are now being remodeled and the drywall is being removed, they have discovered that the vapor barrier is causing mold growth. Moisture is being trapped between the drywall and he visqueen and the paper is a perfect area for mold. The industry is now suggesting not using vapor barrier, but if you have an older house that needs the protection, use the visqueen and a mold resistant drywall. Its really the paper on the back side of the drywall that is the problem.
Q:My doxie puppy is 7mo and chews on everything under the sun. While at work today the got the lid of a candle and a dryer sheet. usually unsupervised everything is put up or away to avoid these things happening but I have no Idea where she got it from but either way. she chewed the plastic around the lid off and I found most of them but I think she swallowed a few. Six hours later the threw up clear liquid and it had a two very small spots of blood and I mean so small almost specks. She is still eating drinking and humping my arm so I asume she is ok for the moment but I was just wondering if I should be overtly worried. thank you!
I think it is a good idea to invest in a crate and some bitter apple spray. I have a 8 month old and a 2 year old English setter and I would not even dream of leaving them out of their crates when nobody is home. The 8 month old barely stays out of trouble when people are watching her.
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for DIY lampshades?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for DIY lampshades. They are a versatile material that can be easily cut and molded into various shapes and sizes. However, it's important to choose the right type of plastic sheet that is heat-resistant and suitable for lampshade usage.
Q:I've been working with a lot of humanitarian help lately, and have noticed that most mediocre plastic sheeting (tarpaulin) is blue whereas the good stuff is white or white on one side and black on the other. Why is most plastic sheeting blue? Is there any particular reason for this choice in color?
1) Blue is a color that contrasts most other natural colors in it's surroundings such as green grass and brown dirt, and therefore is found easily for cleanup. 2) Out of the colors they could use, blue is the cheapest to produce. Black, and surprisingly even white, costs more than blue die. This is because most raw plastic is a gray or multiple colors, so it takes more bleach to make it white than it does to just color it blue. Plus the materials necessary to create blue die are cheaper than most other colors. 3) Blue does not absorb as much heat as some other colors would, and therefore will keep it's integrity longer.
Q:I'm building a 2 x 3 grid for my hedgehog's CC cage. I have all the grids set up and ready to go, I just need the coroplast. All over the internet, I see that you can buy it from Lowes and Home Depot etc., but those all include 10 36 x 48 sheets, for about $200! I only need one!!
Most any sign shop will have tons in stock or can order you just one of whatever you want. There are many grades, colors, and thicknesses available.
Q:The table cloth is a transparent plastic sheet. Is there any easy way to remove candle wax that fell on it?
Ice, freeze the table cloth and the wax will come off easily
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for costume making?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for costume making. They are often used to create unique and standout costume pieces, such as armor or futuristic elements. Plastic sheets can be easily cut, molded, and painted to achieve desired shapes and designs, making them a versatile and affordable material choice for costume making.
Q:i'm looking for some clear plastic sheets (similar to laminating) that i can use a dry erase markers on and place over the whiteboard in my classroom - for putting music notes on the staff etc.i don't want to rewrite them over and over. since there is no laminator in my school, i am at a loss for what to use. of course i can by laminating rolls. anything else i can use and where to get it?
Would blank transparencies be the right size to use?
