Q:nailpolish on the carpet :/?
It is simply amazing how often nail polish makes it onto carpet, or furniture, instead of nails, lol I'm afraid the attitude towards nail polish is entirely too lax... here is why... Carpets these days are made of synthetic fibers.... and when you try to use nail polish remover to remove nail polish, it WILL DAMAGE THE CARPET FIBERS. This results in fibers melting (chemically) or being permanently stained! Nail polish removers often contain Acetone. Acetone is a very harsh and effective chemical stripper -- it will not only damage carpet fibers, but it will also damage vinyl tile, and wood finishes of all sorts. I'm afraid your best bet at this point, is to try to scrape the nail polish out, or have that section of carpet removed, and replaced. A good carpet tech can patch the section for you, but it may still be a noticable patch. Unless you want to make a habit of cutting holes in your carpet, I'd advise a little more care when handling the nail polish, heheheh ;) Good Luck
Q:Cost Carpet?
Well it really depends on where you live and who there is to install it. You can usually count on atelast $50-$150 an hour for installation. Some come as a package. Carpet usually can run anywhere from $1.99 on sale upwards to $15.00 a sq ft.
Q:Carpet replacement suggestions?
Carpet when not cleaned won t last but 5/6 years or less if you have a cheaper carpet.. Its suggested that you have it professionally cleaned at least once a year to make it last. Better made carpets when cleaned regularly will last 12/15 years. Sweeping it at least weekly ( manufactures suggest daily but lets be real lol) will extend the life of a carpet greatly. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:How do I fix my carpet?
Provided you can get the same type of carpet, you can seem in a piece. Basically you need carpet seeming tape, new carpet, and a carpet seeming iron. You have to take a straight edge or a square and cut off the bad section. Cut to match new section with straight edge or square. Warm up seaming iron match the run of the new carpet with The run of the old otherwise it will look really bad. Lay seam tape half and half between old and new carpet. .. better yet it would be esier for you to look up how to seam carpet on youtube. Good luck
Q:How to wash my white shag rug.I am 28 wks pregnant and want everything so clean all the time.Plz help?
Cleaning shag rugs, however, can be tougher to clean than ordinary rugs. They need regular care even more so than regular rugs because of the type of pile. Follow these steps to help make this task more manageable. Instructions Step 1Vacuum your shag rug regularly. Clean it twice a week to keep it in tip-top shape. Step 2Sweep area rugs that are not too large with a bristle broom. The broom bristles get down into the pile and push the dirt out. Step 3Paddle your not-too-large area rugs by rolling them up, shaking them outdoors and then throwing them over a clothesline. Then use a paddle to knock the dirt out of them. Step 4Rent a shampoo machine at a local stare. Do this once every six months for best results. Your local supermarket or super center should have carpet shampoo machines available. Step 5Hire a professional service if you don't want to shampoo the rug yourself. Look the yellow pages under Carpet Cleaners to find services in your area.
Q:How to treat a reallllly bad rug burn?
Carpet Burn Treatment
Q:how to get rid of a smell in the carpet ?
Shampoo the carpet, or use 409 it works great, but make sure you dont mask the carpet with something that you think smells good because it would make it smell worse.
Q:Can you install Vinyl Flooring over low carpet?
No, vinyl will stretch in the traffic area and or crack. In a short time there will be pockets or puffed up parts. remove the carpet and install lauan plywood properly nailed. Over this you need a sealer mastic for cracks and such. The vinyl will last a life time with out cracks and such. Tough pulling up the carpet, it should be pretty good under this. There are some chemicals to help with the glue. After the floor could be covered with the fake wood tiles. It uses a floating foam cover to help with any problems below. Cost less than vinyl and prep.
Q:can you vaccum a wet carpet?
It is best to wait until the rug is dry as you don't want your vacuum powered by electricity to have contact with anything wet. It could cause an electrical shock and you'd get fried. Also, when vacuuming a damp carpet, the floor debris mixed with the dampness can clog your vacuum. To get rid of the smell of urine, mix a shake of baking soda, one cup of vinegar with a gallon of water and a squirt of dish soap. Blot it over the spot and blot dry. The vinegar concoction will take the odor out. It has worked for me.
Q:what is a jewelled rug?
i think you may be talking about a jewel toned rug. jewel tone colors are bright, deep, and saturated, jewel tones in red, blue, purple, green and yellow can add graphic punch to any room. go to the target website and search for jewel tone rugs. they have a pic of one. hope this helps!
