Q:I have long hair and it gets all over the carpet. The vacuum cleaner is meant to be a good strong one but it can't manage the hair. At best it will put it into clumps. I have to pick it up manually and it's very annoying. Why won't the vacuum cleaner work? Will another one work or am I doomed?
its not your vacuum cleaners fault. its the fact that your hair sticks to the carpets fibre so well. i have this same problem and my vacuum isnt good enough to do the job. what i do, is a get a broom. it must be very strong and have strong brissles. dont use the pathetic soft broom. the broom i use, is kind of like a scribbing broom used to scrub tiles. so basically just use it like a vacuum cleaner, and it will pick up all that hair from your carpet :)
Q:please send a website link. if not an answer would do find
I've worked with all the major name brand vacuum cleaner manufacturers (Bissel, Eureka, Oreck, etc...) and the pigmented plastics are almost always ABS while the clear surfaces are acrylic (cheaper models) or polycarbonate which is very hard and durable, and of course expensive. ABS is easy to mold and is relatively fracture resistant, good qualities for this application. It is not clear in color which is why it is normally found pigmented. Polycarb can be molded in a transparent color (ie. tinted lenses for motorcylces) but because of its cost, is rarely heavily pigmented to a solid color
Q:I am in China and don't have any carpet in my apartment (thank goodness!). I was thinking of getting a vacumn cleaner as it is aways so dusty but will this do more harm than good to my health in my apartment. Is it better just to sweep regularly and mop up the dust? Thanks !
Vacuum cleaners are intended for use on carpets but will work on wooden floors too. The advantage of vacuum cleaners is that the dust is sucked up into the machine's dust container and not distributed back into the air which happens when you sweep with a broom. I think vacuum cleaners are better for health when it comes to preventing dust in the air that you can breathe in.
Q:survey - why do vacuum cleaners suck so much ?
Because that's what their suppose to do.
Q:I've tried various vacuums through the years but none seem to do well on the edges of the carpet. Anyone tried a really good one for that?
I went out and got a shark dustbuster and it works gets around areas like that. It comes with a attachment that gets everything up i love it.
Q:My Hoover Wind Tunnel canister vacuum cleaner, which I purchased less than two years ago, bit the dust. I took it in to the authorized Hoover repair shoppe, and it will cost more to fix the darn thing than what I paid for it (well over 230 bucks). I bought it because Consumer Reports recommended it. It worked great (when it worked) but I had to take it in to repair the latch which kept the head on the wand and that cost and now this. I read up on the internet and find all sorts of complaints about Hoover, that it is no longer the company that it used to be (since it sold out to Maytag). My question is, what is a great vacuum cleaner that will not break the bank and will last more than two years? I have a dog, four kids with a stay-at-home mother so it needs to be durable, powerful, non-dust emitting, etc. Thank you very much for your input, especially personal experience with what has worked for you. God bless.
I wish I could be of assistance, but I do love the pun. Try Sears Brand Central possible. I really hope you get a Vacuum cleaner that sucks!!! ←← (Pun)
Q:I got this from myspace and thought it was funny and wanted to keep it going...Being a Soldiers Wife isnt always easy, but ask one of us if we'd give it up you will hear a resounding quot;HELL NO!quot;(Feel Free to add on ladies!)A Few Thing You Should Know About REAL MILITARY WIVES!!!1. We know the difference between BDU's ACU's and what both acronyms stand for (army wife).2. When our men come home late from work, we dont complain. we are just happy to sleep next to them tonight.3. We would NEVER dream of calling our husbands work/boss and complaining4. We know that endless hours and shitty pay is just the way things are in the military and we deal with it5. No matter who you are, come a few days before the first and the fifteenth you are broke as HELL!6. Unlike what the public would like to think we are well aware that our husbands paychecks do NOT go up in value when we have a child.C'mon ladies add on...
And while we are rearranging the budget to fit the unexpectant in, we bake a loaf of bread for our husbands buddy that lives in that barrcks and invte them over for dinner so that they can have a homecooked meal instead of DFAC food or take out. We some how always keep everything going soothly eventhough we think that things are falling apart. Edit: And make cookies for FRG, and volunteer to be a friends lamaze coach since her husband is deployed, and make a blanket for the next baby shower, and watch other peoples kids so they can run to the bank, go shopping, get the car fixed etc And count calories so that we can keep our husbands in shape so that they can fit into their Class A's and attend every military party, function or celebration in the cold that starts a 1/2 hour late when you have a tired, hungery , cranky kid Another Edit: And making Army sock monkeys for all your neices and nephews and then you husbands buddies that think they are cool. And listening to hours of Korean and watching Korean movies so your husband can practise while relaxing and spending time with you (I have now come to love Korean flicks and reading sub-titles) And smile when he smile when he comes home in his NASTY smelling PT's and and washing them seperatly so that they do not contaminate the other dirty clothes and then Febreezing the car when he drives his buddies home from PT as well - Oh that smells. And then just smiling and thanking God when he falls asleep on the couch before dinner with your son laying on his chest
Q:hair cut for long periods of time just to buy a new one???
It's called stop wasting your money and buy me a flatscreen.
Q:Where can i find the vacuum cleaners listed in the consumer reports?
Most of the vacuums in consumer reports can be bought at your local stores or on the internet and the makers site. Be advised that you probably won't find the vacuums at the prices stated in consumer reports mag. I hunted all over for a hoover bagless vac that they rated good for under $200.00 (their price was about $160) the best I could do was $180.00 and it was a re conditioned vac plus I would have had to pay S H of $50.00. I don't know where they get their vacs for those prices but I wish they would include that in their reports.
Q:I've heard Oreck vacuum cleaners are very good and light weight, has anyone had good or bad luck with them?
Dyson is way better than Oreck. Dyson offers way more capabilities and are cooler to look at than a dull Oreck.
