Q:I have recently upgraded my fishtank. The new one has 3 under-gravel filters and I am using my old charcoal and wool filter as well. I am using a Sonic 9905 pump that has 2 air connections. When I first set it up 2 days ago, all three gravel tubes, connected by T pieces, flowed with no problems and the other filter had it's own tube. Now, either the 2 tubes closest to the pump work, or the further one. They seem to change randomly. How can I get all three to flow constantly?
If the T piece do not have a regulator on it, replace it with one that has. This is usually called an air regulator. It has a knob on it that you can use to regulate the flow of the air in the tube. Or you can buy a piece of valve that can pinch the plastic air tube so that you can regulate the air that goes into one tube or the other. These are available in your LFS. Ask them and let them show you how they do it.
Q:What are the physical properties of acrylic tubes (18width, 24diameter)? What is the property difference between a tube that is extruded compared to casted? All I'm really asking is which one is stronger and how strong is it? Is it easy to drill holes in them? Is PVC stronger, and what are the properties of that?
I've no idea what to say
Q:Are plastic tubes suitable for packaging medical devices?
Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for packaging medical devices. They are lightweight, cost-effective, and easily customizable to accommodate various sizes and shapes of medical devices. Additionally, plastic tubes provide a barrier against moisture, contaminants, and UV light, ensuring the integrity and sterility of the packaged medical devices.
Q:Are plastic tubes resistant to solvents?
Yes, plastic tubes are generally resistant to solvents.
Q:I have a long flexible 1 plastic tube that is attached to itself forming a closed circuit and I'd like to add an electric blower to it to flow air continuously that will make a small ball go around continuously. I'd like to splice the blower into the 1 plastic tube but need to know where or how to exhaust the air to keep the air circuit moving continuously in one direction.
there may be an easier way... use a y connection to join the tube.. the blower is one part of the y it forces the air into the tube at an angle.. the ball will then move past the spot where the pump is blowing pump y .................y ......................y h h h y.....y........y.h.h.h.h the h's are then connected end to end and the ball willl move clockwise .. remember that you are forcing air into a closed system so you will have to put some vent holes in the hose to allow some air to escape or put a pressure release valve to let the pressure drop when its too high..
Q:I don't mind cutting the wire but I want to make sure hampster won't get hurt the bubble tube can't be pushed off by her.
You can fold the wire back so that there are no sharp edges when you cut. You can certainly use zip ties, just check them to make sure your hamster doesnt chew them off. Be creative. Modified cages are fun to make!
Q:Can plastic tubes be used for ventilation lines?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for ventilation lines.
Q:What is the maximum temperature plastic tubes can be exposed to without deforming?
The maximum temperature that plastic tubes can be exposed to without deforming depends on the specific type of plastic used. Different plastics have varying melting points and thermal stabilities. Therefore, it is important to consult the manufacturer's guidelines or material data sheets to determine the maximum temperature limit for a particular plastic tube.
Q:i finally bought a new faucet, and changed it. it seems that there is no more leaking from the faucet.but now, it seems that there is some water leaking right under that white plastic screw. around the plastic looking tube. inside of it, there is a dark rubber kind of ring around it. i can't take out the white plastic screw (i don't know the those special names.) otherwise, i will just put some plastic tape, and seal it. that shouldn't be so hard. so my question is 1. what do you recommend? should i buy a new tube? or is there any other way to fix this thing?extra question.2. the new faucet has the top iron thing and a black plastic base. i put the plumb's putty on the edge of top and bottom of the black plastic base. i am thinking what if there are some water leaking inside of the faucet, if i sealed the whole plastic base, the water will accumulate inside of it. did i do the right thing at all?
Looks like the plastic connector has a duff washer in it. It will keep weeping and its annoying. PTFE plastic tape may assist but to be fair id do this: Remove the tube and make sure the threaded brass tail of the tap is flat and smooth wioth no burrs. Second, make sure the threads on the tube arent frayed or have been cross threaded so it goes on slightly crooked. third, make sure the black rubber washer in the tube connector end isnt twisted, split or slipping inside the tail when tightened up fully (common with some makes) fourth, make sure you havent overtightened it, this can cause the above. fifth, where the white plastic braded tube meets the shiny metal crimp section (before the white plasic) it can sometimes fail. Manufaturing fault but not uncommon. Done worry about your question 2. Its 99% question 1. Plumbing and heating engineer for 12 years - a little tip - if you have to force it, your probably doing it wrong. Its a good motto for plumbing.... and in life!!! Yeah baby! Good luck
Q:Is there a difference between a plastic pipe and a wire pipe?
This problem feels a little 2 ah. The wire pipe is a kind of plastic pipe, and the plastic pipe is not necessarily used as the wire pipe.
