- Q:Around the relief valve there is water leaking it is not the valve it's self or the threads it's around the out side of it. The valve is on top of the heater
- Is the valve open? If not - I would open it - the pressure of the tank is forcing water out around the valve - by opening the valve you will relieve some of the pressure. Also - turn off the power and call a plumber in the morning- your hot water tank can blow up - not good.
- Q:I own a 1982 Pontiac Firebird base model which has recently started leaking oil from its Proportioning Valve. I have looked all over the internet for a replacement, and it turns out GM has discontinued the part. Now im faced with difficult and risky task of attempting to fix it, or turn it over to a repair shop as a last resort. The valve seems to leak out of a small circle with a hole the size of a needle inside which was covered by a rubber gasket. I have no clue what this does, and how to repair it.
- First up is that the valve is not leaking oil, it is leaking brake fluid. That is bad. The proportioning valve controls the brake pressure to the rear brakes. Most of the braking is done with the front brakes and without the valve you could lock up the rear brakes on medium to hard stops and the rear end could loose traction, that would be a bad thing on a sharp turn. With that said please replace the valve I have never seen a repair kit for them. Have you looked at to GM for the part? The good news is... that these are being done quite Normally now in Most Large Hospitals these Days... something to consider if you live in extreme rural places... I would mention that You should have a baseline idea of what is normal exertion for you, and at any point, you begin to feel breathlessness, tireness (above beyond normal) Chest Pain .... Do YOu Have chest pain Now, which is normal then anything above and beyond that should be something you should go to a doctor or even a real hopsital... so with that being said how are you feeling? what sorts of exercise do you typically do? play any sports ? gym? ride a bike? text ?lol point is if things change dont ignore it get to the doctor right away.. if you dont have a doc yet , how about a hospital?

- The Mopar Performance blow off valve is really going to be your best bet if the two are roughly the same price. The reason I say that is because the Mopar unit is designed to fit onto that car, therefore it is engineered to release excess pressure at a safe level for that engine. The Greddy unit is also going to typically require modification to make it fit and function properly. Unfortunately, what they don't tell you about universal units is the reason they are universal is because they don't fit anything until you make them to fit, you just have enough material and hardware to get creative with it. If you are looking to extensively modify your engine, then it may benefit you to go with the universal unit and just wait until you have your piping cut exactly the way you want it, this may give you better location or clearance using the aftermarket unit, but otherwise like I said, I would go with the factory performance BOV. - Valve comes from latin valva. There is not other name for it in engineering, but some times is referred as a cock, if the valve is used as shutoff valve, it is also known as shutoff cock. For irrigation, sometimes large gate valves are also known as gates. I can give you many names for the type of valves but I can't think of any other name that replaces valve.

The leaflets of the mitral valve connect to the heart muscle through a ring called the annulus. The surgeon can modify the original valve (valvuloplasty) to eliminate backward blood flow. Sometimes repairing the valve includes tightening or replacing the ring around the valve (annulus). This is called an annuloplasty. - Q:I have a suzuki bandit 1200 (2001) and I think it needs a valve adjustment. The engine is tapping at idle and while riding but I cant stop riding long enough to get it fixed. All the shops I checked with are booked for a week. Will I make the engine worst by riding it like this?
- I own a 1998 Bandit 1200S. These bikes have inherently noisy valves. As has already been said, loose is much better than tight. You can run with loose valves for a while without any major damage resulting (unless the screw comes out of the rocker and lodges in an oil passage...very rare) If you don't hear a clicking then the valves are tight and major damage can occur. The Bandit does not have shim under/over bucket. The valves can be adjusted with a $10 tool from Suzuki (or one can be made for a couple of bucks). I adjusted my own, as a novice mechanic, and it isn't that difficult however you should synch the carbs after the service which requires a $30 - $100 set of gauges. Don't forget the feeler gauges either. Along with the Suzi tool, Guages and new gaskets from Suzuki you should have a shop manual or haines manual that will describe the process as well as appropriate tools like a torque wrench. This can also be time consuming for a beginner with many pit falls along the way and you have to measure with the engine cold, that means at least 24 hours since the last start up. The long and the short...You can ride it for a while and (most likely) will not have a problem.
- Q:A question about a hot water radiator bleed valve. I read the advise on previous questions and bleed all my radiators except one where the bleed valve broke off when I tried to turn it with the key. My question is that on the other side of the radiator near the floor there is a black knob that turns which I assume should shut off the radiator. If my assumption is correct then I should be able to shut this off and then remove the bleeding valve and replace it without bleeding the system.. Does this sound right? Thanks,.JOE B
- You may be able to do this but there are usually two pipes going to the radiator and they may be tied in with a radiator on another floor. Be prepared for some water to come streaming out and do this when there is no hot water in the system. If you have the new valve ready to go with pipe dope or Teflon tape on it you will not get too much water coming out and it will not be under much pressure if you remember to shut off the water supply going to the automatic filler valve at the furnace. Plastic sheets and towels or rags should be in place just in case to catch the water and don't panic or it will take you longer to get the new valve started in the hole. A helper with a thumb to go over the hole to stop the water flow and give you time to do what you need to do may be required so have one of those handy as well.
